M Audio Delta 1010 PCI Audio Interface with Ableton Delta LIVEThe Delta 1010 provides 24/96 power, eight TRS analog (switchable +4/-10), S/PDIF, Word Clock, and MIDI I/Os in a rackmount box that connects to the included PCI card. To ensure that your audio is not compromised by your computer’s internal noise, the Delta 1010’s converters reside in a rock-solid, external, rack-mountable chassis. They’ve even located the power transformer outside of the chassis for absolute transparency of your audio. The 1010 also includes the Maximum Audio Tools software bundle - now featuring Ableton's Delta-LIVE!
Few companies have the privilege of setting the standard of excellence within their field. M Audio's Delta soundcards have earned their place at the top of the class with superb engineering and performance. Critics have called them "stunning" 1 with sound quality "none can beat." 2

Your studio, then and now
Just a few years ago there was a big difference between the home studio, the project studio, and the pro studio. As technology has become more powerful and more affordable, the quality and features that used to be available only to pro studios have become more and more accessible to everyone. Today, a computer-based recording system with one or more Delta 1010's and the right software surpasses what have been considered "pro" systems. The kind of power that used to command a $10-20,000 price tag can now be harnessed for a fraction of that cost.
Why the Delta 1010?
Sound quality, performance, and superior driver technology are a few of the reasons that the Delta 1010 has established worldwide recognition as a top choice in PCI-based digital audio solutions. With its superb engineering and ultra-high quality conversion, the fidelity of the Delta 1010 surpasses systems that cost many times more. The 1010 offers the professional performance required by today's most popular software programs, and provides you with features like 24-bit 96 kHz recording, zero latency hardware monitoring and digital mixing.
What about specs?
M-Audio is proud to use only specifications of production units. While other companies quote specs of their converters alone in laboratory settings, the numbers you see on this box represent the actual unit in your hands. Since people often rely heavily on specs when deciding what gear to buy, we like to bring you numbers that really mean something.
What about drivers?
Drivers are what allows your card to communicate with audio applications. M-Audio offers drivers compliant with almost every possible application on the market. For Macintosh, there are both Sound Manager and several different versions of ASIO. For Windows, there are ASIO, ASIO2, GSIF, EASI, as well as multi-client WDM (Win 2K) and MME drivers. Multiclient drivers allow you to use multiple applications simultaneously, allowing you to run sequencers, soft-synths, and other programs at the same time. We are also committed to supporting both MacOS X and Windows XP.
What does this mean for you?
- Your Delta card will consistently perform (and perform well)
- Virtually any program you use is supported.
- You will experience exceedingly low latency (as low as 1.5ms in some programs).
- Total control over the applications and platforms you want to use.
The 1010 has what you need
- Unsurpassed fidelity
- Superior driver technology
- The broadest compatibility of any card
- Zero latency monitoring
- Expandability
- Bit-for-bit accurate digital transfers via S/PDIF
- 24-bit 96 kHz recording
- Powerful digital mixing and routing.

Maximum Audio Tools
M-Audio is proud to announce the newest version of Maximum Audio Tools—a powerful software bundle included free with all M-Audio soundcards and keyboards. The centerpiece of the new Maximum Audio Tools is Ableton's Delta-LIVE: a basic version of Ableton’s revolutionary Live audio sequencer software. The updated bundle comes with the introduction of Live 2, including new features that transform the product into a complete production environment based on the concept of elastic audio.
"Ultimately the choice comes down to audio quality every time…While there may be cheaper options none can match its audio specification. To my ears the 1010 is the best sounding 8-in/8-out soundcard I've reviewed to date."
-Martin Walker, Sound On Sound Magazine.
Ableton Delta-LIVE
Live is an audio sequencer that is played like an instrument. Live lets you improvise in real time with a palette of audio clips; clips can be turned on/off, manipulated, looped, reordered, combined, effected, and re-recorded on the fly. All the samples used are adjusted to the tempo of the song in real time and without changing the pitch. Live records 24-bit audio, in addition to all actions made during a session so that everything can be saved and post-edited in detail. When people see Live the typical reaction is "why has no one ever come up with this before?" No other audio sequencer has been developed from the perspective of improvising and live use. Live is a one of a kind program. Delta-Live provides an immediate way to start enjoying and creating with the Delta Card.
