Shubb C1 Original Guitar Capo

The Shubb C1 Original Guitar Capo is a top of the line capo that clamps tightly to your guitar. 2 inches wide and slightly curved, the strap fits most steel-string acoustic and electric guitars.
Since 1980 the Shubb capo has set the standard against which all others must be measured. It is the first choice ... often the only choice... of more than a million musicians worldwide. Once serious guitarists have discovered the Shubb, they'll never settle for anything less

What Makes The Shubb Capo So Special?
For one thing, its ingenious design: a patented locking action which provides an unrivalled combination of power, speed, accuracy and ease of use. One smooth flip of the lever locks it securely in place... and removes it just as quickly.

And the Shubb capo doesn't create tuning problems. Its soft, resilient rubber is specially designed to work just like a fingertip, so it doesn't bend the strings over the frets. Its closing action is just like your hand, so it doesn't pull the string off center. As a result, no re-tuning is necessary!

Precisely machined of brass and carefully hand assembled, a Shubb capo is manufactured without compromise. Simply holding one in your hand conveys a sense of quality. Snapping it solidly onto a guitar neck, and then removing it, all within about one second, will confirm its reputation for excellence.

Subject:Excellence simplified
Quality: Absolutely well made, nickel plated brass holds up for years. Simple yet ingenious.
Reliability: This is my second Shubb. The first lasted me about 15 years and then I lost it.(Doh!) Worked great for all of that time.
Overall: The best capo on the market. I did try some of the others but didn't like spring capos as they are too tight and pull strings sharp.
Playability and Feel: Feels great to handle- easy and quick to operate. On the light side for a capo and I actually like that.
Tone: Tone is good, no buzz and solid clamp, again no intonation problems.
Finish: Liked I said before, my old nickel one held up good over the years. A few nicks here and there but they're finished well.
Action: Worked great

Subject:My favorite capo
Quality: I love these capos. Seems like it will last me quite a lot of years before it breaks if ever. It's a simple device, but I've no reason to think it won't be around for at least 10 years if not a lifetime.
Reliability: Hasn't given me any problems.
Overall: This is my favorite style capo. I own Dunlop, Kyser, and this Shubb. The Shubb is the best for applying even pressure across all strings, and adjustable. Sometimes you are capo'd on the 2nd fret, and sometimes the 8th fret and you should NOT have the same tension because the neck is thicker up higher. You can adjust for all that with the Shubb, but not with trigger style capos.
Playability and Feel: Doesn't bother me at all while playing. I can't say the same for Kyser or Dunlop. While they aren't that bad, the Shubb is still better.
Tone: No buzz or intonation jumps if you put it on right. Being able to adjust it lets you dial it in perfect.
Finish: It's chrome. Had it for a few years, and it's still chrome. So I'd say the finish it pretty good.
Action: It's a capo. If has pro capo action.
Skill Level: Semi-Pro
