The MTD Kingston CRB 5 String is the result of Michael Tobias wanting to create a classic rock bass that still includes many of his innovative design elements. With the tried-and-true 34 inch scale necks, unique body design and Buzz Feiten tuning system, this bass simply rocks. Michael took great pains to create a P-style pickup which is both beefy and articulate. Whether you are pounding 8th notes with a pick or flying high with your fingers, the CRB 5 String is the classic weapon of choice!

A GREAT BASS!
Quality
Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable?
Solid construction. The neck pocket is tight and perfect. It stays in tune and doesn't drift. The bridge and tuners are first rate, no need to replace them.
Features
What do you consider to be the best features of this product? What features would you add to this product if you could?
The Buzz Feiten system does make the bass play much better in tune with itself. Chords and double stops, especially 10th's, are true over the entire neck. The zero fret sets the string height perfectly and the open and fretted note have the same tonal characteristics.
Tone
Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin?
The pickup has the right balance of highs and lows. The tone control is very effective and doe not muddy up the sound when rolling off the high end. It keeps the P bass vibe but is more versatile.
Finish
How did the stain or paint job look?
No flaws to be found anywhere
