Excellent Guitar, Fits Anyone
General
What is your overall opinion of this product?
This guitar is absolutely excellent, it plays like better. The tremolo is great, it does not go out of tune even with divebombs. The neck is so smooth, the guitar is so light weight, yet packs the punch of a heavy les paul tone on the treble/rhythm pickups, and the 5way selector gives you good strat tones in between.
Quality
What is your opinion of the quality of this product? How does it work for different genres of music?
It is outstanding from tone, build, and finish. It would work for any genre of music you wanted to play because it can go from heavy metal, reggae, jazz, smooth jazz, classical music, shoegaze, alternative, indie, classic rock etc. Maybe even death metal, but most of that stuff sounds like crap and just use emgs. These dimarzio pickups are beyond versatile/quality.
Feel
Heavy, fast, chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing?
The neck was so fast and smooth. the controls are super easy just one volume and one tone knob. Super light guitar. Also the tremolo/whammy can be popped easily out of the slot. And you can adjust the height of the whammy. The higher up you have it, the more crazy the whammy action gets. I push it all the way in and can still get extreme divebombs/legato sounds while keeping in tune. It is closer to the guitar when pushed in and easier to use while soloing/playing chords than when pulled up, it gives a better angle and control over the whammy useage when pushed in. My strat whammy is so tall on the guitar, and gets rigid and affects the tuning too much. this guitar avoids that when you push the whammy farther in and moves just enough to be fluid
Tone
How is the tone? Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick or thin?
Treble pickup is very bright yet well rounded, the rhythm pickup is very beefy yet not too raw where it sounds bad. Very balanced tone. The inbetween tones are exactly like a strat and sound even nicer than most strat tones because it is balanced by solid humbuckers.
Finish
How did the stain or paint job look?
It is beautiful, so deep and trippy. No flaws on the neck wood, or finish on the guitar.
Value
Did you get what you were expecting for the price? How does it compare to similar products in the same price range?
I got more than I expected, it came with a case that you dont even need to take the whammy off the guitar, and since i use it in the farthest in slot of the tremolo hole, it fits like a glove. Came with ernie ball wipes/warranty info as well.
Playability
How was the action out of the box?
Perfect, Keep the slinky strings 9's. I use tens normally on my esp eclipse/ fender strat, and i love the fullness of tens and strength in alternate tunings, but this guitar is so light and well balanced keep the 9's on there( in standard/half step down) if you are used to tens you will shred harder on this guitar in standard/half step down. it is meant to be shredded on with the slinky strings. It does not mean it loses warmth or fullness though.
