| | | Subject: | A good portable drum sampler that fits my needs | | Overall:
|
QUALITY: The case feels solid to me but the data entry knob seems flimsy. The pads not as responsive as I would hope.
FEATURES: First the Good: Battery powered, portable, 16 bit stereo sampling, The Famous MPC sequencer, import/export WAV files, SMF, On board effects, USB file exchange just to name a few.
Now the Bad: 1980s style calculator display to navigate complex menues, no foot switch start/stop input, mine recognizes only MIDI notes 35-98, no battery backup on powering down, no on board mic for sampling, reverb effect seems to compete for voice allocation.
EASE OF USE: Sampling super easy for me, but the sequencer part a little tough especially with such a small display. Sample edits tough too unless you do it by software and load the edits back in.
VALUE: Excellent! I thought I got a good deal at AMS. Does a lot for this price point, but I wish for a better display.
