BBE Mindbender Analog Vibrato and Chorus Pedal

New from BBE Sound, the Soul Vibe is an analogue Uni-Vibe effect that was known for its phase-like rotary speaker effects and made popular in the late ‘60’s and early ‘70’s by players such as Jimi Hendrix, David Gilmour and Robin Trower. Features include controls for speed and intensity, a true hardwire bypass, plus 9 volt DC inlet.

Subject:Great quality pedal... Lacks control
Quality: Let me start off by saying bbe makes top notch gear at what seems to be a great price. This pedal is just like the rest of the series. It is a heavy duty casting, nice paint, great switches and boutique style led lighting.
Reliability: I don't know how this pedal would hold up because I haven't owned it long enough to tell. I do know that my green screamer has been gigged a ton and is still way better than my ibanez reissue tubescreamer.
Overall: Minus the sound this thing is awesome. I'll explain this in tone.
Playability and Feel: See tone.
Tone: the depth of this pedal is horrible. It distorts the signal to sound way out of tune if the depth is turned anything past 11 oclock. And the pot for rate steps up way way to fast. I'm going to try to run it through the effects loop on my amps (carvin mater tube - vintage fender twin - Vai legacy - 5150) stand alone using it as a modulation effect just for chorus it's very brittle and unadjustable. Using the tremolo with chorus is fine as long as neither know goes past about 9-10 oclock. I can't think of a single practical use for the higher rates. If you want to save yourself some money buy a small clone by electroharmonix. If you want to run a digital chorus with stereo run a boss ch1 or ensemble. I'll end up hanging on to it for a while to see if i can find a use. I'm currently in three projects (metal / blues southern rock / acoustic) two of which play shows regularly so a use might come up or it might grow on me after I tweak i ta bit and find a home in my set for it.
Finish: Other than the durability of this pedal this has to be about the best part. This thing looks awesome but looks can be deceiving. The blue les looks fantastic when you're on stage using a was or just playing nect to your pedals.
Action: Explained in tone.
