Amps & Cabs
Flextone III's soul is its remarkable collection of Amp and Cabinet models—resulting from Line 6's meticulous study of a dream collection of vintage and modern amplifiers and cabinets. Flextone III features 32 groundbreaking amp models built from the same amp technology found in their flagship Vetta amplifier. They've even added all new models based on* a 1963 Fender Vibroverb, Bogner Extacy, Cornford mk50h, and a 1985 Marshall Silver Jubilee.
Effects
Against their accountant's better judgment, Line 6 took the liberty of adapting a bunch of great stomp box models from their MM4 Modulation Modeler and DL4 Delay Modeler pedals, and stuffed them all into your Flextone III. You'll get instant access to models based on* the Maestro EP-1 Echoplex, Roland Space Echo, Electro-Harmonix Deluxe Memory Man, MXR Phase 90, Uni-Vibe, and Leslie 145. There's even a dedicated Compressor and Gate. And it doesn’t stop there. They've even added 16 classic reverb types ranging from Plate and Chamber to vintage Spring.

FAQ
Are the FX taken from the stomp modelers?
The premium Effects are taken from PODXT. They include the Echoplex, Space Echo, Line 6 Sweep Echo, Uni-Vibe, Phase 90 and others.
Is it loud?
The Flextone III uses an all new power amp developed for Vetta, and refined for Duoverb. This new amp has a whole lot more headroom, (thanks to a much bigger transformer) for improved dynamic response, and models the way a tube power amp interacts with a speaker cabinet. Combined you get a punchier, more organic and toneful experience.
Any new amp models?
Oh yeah. Check out new models based on* the Marshall Silver Jubilee head, Cornford mk50h, '63 Fender Tweed Vibroverb, and Marshall TSL-2000.
Does it jive w/ the old Floorboard and FB4?
Sorry, new FBV and FBV Shortboard only.
Can I transfer my Flex II/Pod 2.0 sounds to it?
That's in the works, but not for now. A new Line 6 Tone Transfer site should be available very soon.
What are the dimensions of the Flextone III amps?
Flextone III, Plus, and Cab: 24" x 18" x 11"
Flextone III XL: 29" x 21" x 11"

| I have nothing but good things to say about this amp. I've wanted to buy a Line 6 amp ever since the AxSys 212. I waited for a long time to avoid the some of the technology leaps. This model uses a 32-bit SHARC processor...'Nuff said.
One of the things I love about my new Flexie is how different each model sounds. Yeah, I know that's the idea. But I never thought it was actually possible to get each one to sound so authentic and distinct. You'll be amazed. Another nice feature is that you can place a booster in front of the amp and over-overdrive it just like a real tube amp. Sweet!
Most importantly though, is that this amp let's the tone of your guitar shine. A problem of modeling technology has been the tendency to make every guitar that's plugged into it to sound the same. Not here. I own two Ibanez guitars that share the same features down to the pickups. Yet each one has it's own character--which is fully retained after plugging in.
Lastly, I have to mention the headroom

QUALITY: The quality this product has excedes the price you pay. I have no "worst" quality to say about this amp.
FEATURES: Oh man, there are all kinds of features. They pretty much give some of the basic ones, and then you can put them to the amp sound you want to get the perfect tone. (sure beats paying 3 to 4 hundred bucks just to get the pedals already in this amp!)
EASE OF USE: This product is EASY to get used to. Even a monkey could get the hang of it.
VALUE: The amp, by far, exceded the price, and for that the retail value of this amp.
SOUND: The sound and tone that comes out of this amp could bring tears to the eyes of a deaf person. It's just incredible how people compliment me on the sound and then i show them the big TA-DAH, no pedals (unless you want the FBV shortboard, for like Wah effects) and that just makes it all the more of a shock. MUHAHAHA

QUALITY: This amp is very solid. Thus far it has operated flawlessly and given me no problems. After playing this amp and seeing the overall quality of the build I was sold.
FEATURES: This amp is the most flexible amp I've ever owned, or played. It has such a wide range of sounds and effects that even if you don't bother tweeking the sounds throught the online tone bank you still can get more sounds than you will ever need.
EASE OF USE: Surprisingly intuitive control panel. My only complaint about this amp is that you really need the shortboard controller to get the most out of it, otherwise it is easy to get the hang of.
VALUE: Great value. Better sound, build quality, and features than any comparably priced amp.
SOUND: Great sound, tube-like tones, quality effects. You get the sounds of great classic amps plus a whole pedal board worth of effects built in. Brilliant!

QUALITY: This amp is one of the best quality amps I've ever seen. It is built like a rock. I throw this amp in the back of my car all the time and it is still like new.
FEATURES: This amp has so many features and they all sound amazing, from the different amps and cabs that it models beautifully to the many modulations and delays to the built in compresser and noise gate.
EASE OF USE: The flextone III plus is very simple to use but can be a little tricky for newbies. all in all this is easy to figure out especially with the well detailed manual.
VALUE: This amp has to have the best value when it comes to an amp of this price range. I would easily pay twice this price for this amp.
SOUND: The flextone II plus sounds so amazing and i am very critic

| After going through three Line 6 Flextone II amps last year, I gave up on Line 6. I promised myself I'd never buy another one of their amps again. The Flextone II wasn't built well and rattled all over the place. Maybe I got three bad ones....I don't know! BUT.....after reading several excellent reviews on the new Flextone III models, I decided to give it another try. I'm glad I did! Everything I DIDN'T like about the Flextone II models has been fixed. This amp is easy to use, built to last, and sounds incredible. Much easier to use than the Fender Cyber series amps (even the Cyer Deluxe). No wall wart for the controller pedalboard. Excellent construction. The best modeling amp out there (for now!) |
