Marshall MG100HDFX Guitar Amplifier Head

The Marshall MG100HDFX is a 100-watt head and a powerhouse of killer tone.
Using radical new technologies (some borrowed from the amazing, acclaimed AVT series), the new Marshall MG Series raises the sonic and performance standard of bang-for-your-buck guitar amplifiers. Marshall's exclusive FDD (Frequency Dependent Damping) technology accurately mimics the way an all-tube amp interacts with a loudspeaker, giving the MGs a width of sound never before possible in an affordable, non-tube amp. All models feature a CD input, speaker-emulated headphone jack, and a line out jack. Models from the MG15DFX and up boast built-in, custom-designed digital effects!

MG100HDFX Head
The MG100HDFX will easily drive any cabinet from the Marshall range. Unbelievable tone, feel and projection come as standard. Its two footswitchable channels offer a pair of selectable modes - Clean/Crunch on the Clean Channel and OD1/OD2 on the Overdrive Channel. Each channel has independent tone controls for Bass, Middle and Treble, and the Overdrive Channel also features our critically acclaimed Contour control for tonal versatility. Higher Gain settings on the Clean Channel will yield a healthy, bluesy overdrive, especially when the Crunch mode is selected.

This said, when in Clean mode, this channel has loads of headroom which makes high levels of clean performance easily attainable. The Overdrive Channel's OD1 mode is reminiscent of the throaty drive that has made our vintage amps famous, while OD2 is brimming with modern, high gain aggression. The MG100HDFX's specially-voiced DFX section offers Chorus/Delay, Delay, Chorus or Flange effects plus a natural sounding digital Reverb with its own individual control. Add in Marshall's revolutionary FDD technology, a parallel effects loop (with switchable level an Effects Mix control), CD input, Speaker Emulated Headphone and Line Output plus a Master Volume control, you have a world-beating head.

FDD
Marshall’s exclusive, groundbreaking FDD circuitry gives the MG Series the unbelievable depth of sound and unique feel of their legendary, all-tube amps. It does this by mimicking the way an all-tube power amp interacts with the speaker(s) it is driving.

This radical new technology is incorporated on all MG Series amplifiers.

Incredible Sound - Amazing Versatility
All the MG Series are equipped with Marshall’s proprietary speaker emulation system for the Headphone Out and Line Out. Combined with a CD input, each of these amplifiers is ideal for recording as well as practice.

if you are a true musician you can make this thing howl. just takes a little tweaking. i dont think there are any bad features for this price range.. this thing can sound huge. foot switch is only accessories

EASE OF USE:
the manual is easy to understand and after you play it for a while you can figure it out very easily

VALUE:
worth every penny but not any more

SOUND:

Subject:worst marshall ever made
Overall:

QUALITY:
not really good quality of construction, easy to melt down

FEATURES:
the effects a decent but are not really good, reverb is ok, 4 channels you can only foot swicth 2 groups

EASE OF USE:
takes time, but not hard at all

VALUE:
I wouldn't buy it, the sound is not good, doesn't sound like tube like it claims to be, and is too fuzzy

SOUND:
there is some distortion in it, the max distortion have enough gain and sustain but, is too fuzzy, you can find some good sound in it, but is not really warmth of good quality.

Overall: Not so great as everybody thinx this amp won't do if you wan't to play heavey-ass-loud metal. Of course you can plug a pedal into it and then it will sound so cool. The FX are great , fat ass delay. great clean. And the best thing = a low price!
