| Very dependable and sturdy. The construction that Tascam made this model out of will leave it well in operation for many years to come. |
| Features:
| This feature has just about anything anyone would want in a track recorder, USB connectivity to computer, removal of certain tracks, copying, overwriting. It's just totally compatible with the needs of someone who might want an 8 track recorder but just could not find one this cheap. |
| Ease of Use:
| 1. The product is self explanatory and the functions are pretty much easy to use. 2. Using it with other products is the fun part because you can use the DP-02 as a master to start up some or all of your instruments to start recording at the right time to get that perfect symphony. 3. No it didn't it's almost like learning how to ride a bike if you read the manual carefully. 4. The manual was very helpful in explaining detailed routines just to make your sound come out right the first and every time. No mistakes allowed. 5. This product is playable as long as there is something to record. |
| Sound:
| The sound of the product when recorded is almost professional. I could not stop thinking of what record after I purchased it. The DP-02 DigitalPortastudio is a must have for anyone like me who produces beats and samples to make a nice blend of music. |
| Reliability:
| Over the past two to four months that I have had the unit it has held up to some serious punishment of recording, backup, USB to the computer and recorded straight to a digital recorder. As long as I have the memory cards to record a track with, I will always have space. |
| Overall:
| It's well within good music standards and I advise if you want to catch just 8 tracks of your music, this is a must have. The price is a steal by the way for beginners that might want to try what Track music is all about. |

| I bought this for a language curriculum project (mostly voice, some instrumentation), and considered the Fostex model that uses a Compact Flash card as well. This is better built, IMHO. |

| The "records-like-a-tape-deck" analogy is true; works well in that regard. The USB connectivity also works well, although transfers to my laptop are slow. Hard to read the display unless you're right over it. The EQ does not work when recording, so everything is recorded "flat," which some would maintain that that's the "correct" way to record...the mic preamps are weak; see below. |

| No complaints in the quality of the recording. I'm using an Audio-Technica 2020. Quiet and clean.... |

| Have had it a month, and it hasn't left the house. Again, very well constructed. |

| It's a lot of recorder for $300. However, to get the gain up where the signal-to-noise ratios are acceptable to me, I had to go out and buy a mic preamp. I bought a Behringer rack-mount, two-channel preamp, the one with the shared tube and individual channel eq's. Made a big difference. Also, plan on buying a larger CF card. 1 Gig doesn't hold much. |

| This unit is constructed very well, besides plastic covers on the each side (to protect it) this thing is made out of steel, pick it up and know you bought a quality product.I can see me owning this for a very long time. |

| Unlike other digital recorders in this price range its nice to be able to adjust the eq and use an effects loop, not to mention the cut, copy, and paste options make it easy and simple to refurbish or extensify your songs. The compact flash card is really nice, it make putting song on my computer a breeze for then i dont have to move the entire unit and connect via usb cable. This unit also has two built in inputs so it makes recording a fast and fun process. |

| This unit cannot make it easier to record and playback songs, read through the manual once and your done. I dont think i can say that for any other electronic devices ive purchased in awhile. And with the two inputs it makes recording alot of stuff fast and you can even have fun doing it. |

| This tone is awsome for a stereo amplifier that is, there is no built in sound effect so you have to use your pedals or processor, but you get what you pay for and if you already have these things then dont waste the extra money on a recorder that can do the same. |

| Well since it is so compact i do carry it around with me alot and ill tell you this thing can take some damage (if has to be)but if you just have it in a room and dont move it often, you can have this unit for the restt of your life. |

| I am very glad to have bought this item, its everything it said it was and with me being new to doing the recording the ease of it all was a big selling point. So whether your experienced in recording or new and on a budget this item is perfect for you. |
