Yamaha NP30 Portable Grand Piano Package

The Yamaha NP30 Portable Grand is an easy-to-carry piano that features Advanced Wave Memory stereo sampled piano sounds for incredible sound quality.
A entirely new take on the digital piano, offering quality, value and portability with a lighter touch. Featuring 76 Graded Touch keys and stereo-sampled pianos. Also, 10 voices like Organs and Strings plus 32 notes of polyphony. Another great feature for the home recording artist is that it performs as a MIDI controller too. The built in speakers allow you to play it anywhere since it operates on six AA batteries or the included power supply.

Ultra-Portable Digital Piano
The new NP-30 Portable Grand delivers Yamaha digital piano sound and simplicity in a new lightweight, compact design like nothing else you've seen... all at a price point you won't believe.

Its super slim design and minimal weight of 12 pounds makes it the most compact performer in the digital piano family of instruments. And 6 AA batteries are all you need to power up and start playing immediately.

Graded Soft Touch Action
Because of its similarity to acoustic pianos, a graded action is one of the primary features sought by pianists in their digital instruments. While technically a non-weighted action, the Graded Soft-Touch keyboard is the first of its kind bringing different levels of resistance without the extra weight of moving hammers the key contributor to the NP-30's fighting weight of only 12 pounds. The end result is a very playable action that will appeal to pianists who want to take their music anywhere.

AWM Stereo Piano Samples
Advanced Wave Memory is Yamaha's exclusive format for reproducing sounds digitally. And stereo means that Yamaha used two microphones to record the piano you hear on every key of the NP-30 adding even more realism to the sound you hear.

Built-in Metronome
Every pianist knows that practice makes perfect. And one tool they've all used to keep time when practicing is the metronome. The NP-30 has a built-in metronome and even has multiple time signatures (3/4, 4/4, 6/8) to choose from. Plus the numeric key function lets you set the tempo to the exact marking you need.

Dual Voice Mode
Choose any two Voices you'd like to combine and play them both at once. Dual Voice mode makes this easier than ever. Simply hold down the Voice Select button and select the two you'd like to hear for a variety of combinations.

Subject:I cant believe it's not butter
Quality: This thing is so light. you can carry it any where, But well made. The keys dont feel cheesey.
Features: The way you can change the feel of the keys by a touch of a button is wonderful. Also battery operated for those clutzy moments on a gig.
Ease of Use: Very user friendly. Just memorize the buttons. It comes with a chart to help you get around. Trust me it's easy. Only a few sounds so no confusing screen. If you need a piano with good sound and a good feel, that wont make you compromise your mortgage payment, THIS IS IT!
Sound: For the most part the sounds are Extraordinary. Use it Just for a standard piano with maybe a little string mix and you are rocking. Excellent with a module or computer. (I use reasons)
Action: I took it out the box, turned it on and started playing.
Value: OMG! I own sneakers that cost more than this!

Overall:

QUALITY:
Seems like it is put together fairly well.

FEATURES:
I liked the soft touch on the keys however I just prefer weighted keys but these flowed nicely and smoothly.

EASE OF USE:
Very simple to use, only a few buttons so basically anyone can just plug it up and go.

VALUE:
I think it's a pretty good deal especially for someone just starting out, more experiences players would need to move on up to higher grade models.

SOUND:
We ran it through a head along with a midi box and I think the sounds right out of the keyboard were better than the midi box to be honest.

Sound: Sound is great!I just wish keys are little bit more heavier.
Action: Took it out of the box and played it right away.
Value: Oh yes,I have 88 keys Yamaha keyboard and paid over $500 before and it's too heavy for me to take anywhere but this one is light and good sound and really affordable price.

Quality: It's a YAMAHA! Their gear is always "Top Notch"
Features: 10 included sounds cover all the basics you'll need.
Ease of Use: The NP-30 is SO easy to use I had it up and running in no time, MIDI'd up to a sound module and blending sounds within one hour without even looking at the manual.
Sound: Fine through most registers.
Action: I bought this without even playing it, so I knew it would have a much lighter feel than a more expensive Digital Piano.
Value: I bought thr NP-30 to play outdoors for a wedding. The portability, plus the fact that you can plug it in to an electrical outlet OR run on battery power gave me piece of mind.
