Power to the Lunchbox!
Quality
Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable?
Just got it today. I spent LOTS of time reviewing on the 'net and on Youtube and was very impressed by the reviews and demos. My amp head is an awesome looking piece and is so tiny! When they said a little over 1 lb, they meant it. You can barely see the 12AX7 preamp tube in there, but you can hear it when you crank the gain.
|
Reliability
How has it stood up over time?
Again, too early to tell but with only 1 tube and a solid state power amp, it's not rocket science.
|
Overall
Your general opinion of this product.
I am stoked. I own another brand's all valve(King) 50w combo that weighs over 40 lbs. I have become disabled gradually over the last 4 years and can no longer drag the "King" on coffee shop gigs. This head plus the discontinued 12" Kustom cab I purchased here is a matched combo.

Playability and Feel
How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing?
N/A
|
Tone
Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin?
I was hesitant with only a tone knob instead of the usual 3 stage eq and occasional bright or deep switch, but the tone works well enough. I have pedals for that and my Strat is equipped with a set of Injector pups which give me quite a tonal spectrum. Besides, the tone with the gain on full is pure Brit.
|
Finish
How did the stain or paint job look?
Finish is A-1. I still have to chuckle at the size of it though. Seriously, its width is about 1/2 a loaf of bread!
|
Action
How was the action out of the box?
Well, mine stunk because I'm nearly 56 years old and an old head banger. I can't shred to save my soul. The amp took about 2 minutes to hook up and start playing, so that's pretty quick.
