Subject:If you like the looks buy it, if not, look at other ovation products
Quality: The quality seems to be on par with all low to mid priced ovation guitars. The new preamp and toggle switch (that is used to control the MP3 recording/playback function) seems a little flimsy.
Reliability: Only had it for a couple weeks but the plastic back and heavy finish on the front seems like this can withstand a dropping or two. Weak points would be the preamp interface. Feels a little cheap to me but not any different than you would find on other ovation guitars in this price range.
Overall: Overall this is a good product. The Record / MP3 function could be a lot more user friendly.
Playability and Feel: It feels just like any other mid-bowl ovation guitar.
Tone: Acoustic = not so good. It is REALLY lacking in the low / mid range and the tone just sounds off. It is also very quiet. I don't think anyone would buy this guitar and plan to use it ONLY in acoustic mode though. With Amp= A+ Sounds great. The amp fills in the bottom end and seems to mesh well with the overall acoustic sound coming from the holes. Very impressed.
Finish: The paint job is good. I was a little disappointed because I thought that it was a little more on the white side (I guess it was my computer monitor) It is, in fact, very matt silver. It looks high tech (and is) I suppose.
Action: Out of the box action was pretty good. It might be a little on the low side. I can't put a capo on the 7th fret without the strings buzzing. Sans capo or < 7th fret it fine.
Skill Level: Semi-Pro
