Quality: For this price you get a whole lot of quality. I have had hundreds of compliments over the years. Im sure I've made Pearl some sales. :)
Ease of Use: Well I hope if you're buying this you have some knowledge as to how to use it.
Sound: As you can imagine, this has a very high pitch as it should be. Cuts through great with heavy rock guitar and distortion. I have owned this metal version and the 13' maple version. If you are into more of a rock sound I would recommend this metal one but I feel the maple is more versatile with a warmer tone. What kind of sound you want is of course a matter of preference.
Value: When I first bought this snare I got it because I didnt have a lot of money and wanted at least get something decent. This drum is way more than some middle of the road snare. It has got to be one of the very best you can buy in this price range. And definitely the best piccolo for this kinda money.
Durability: I have owned my 13' maple for over 10 years and the metal for about 5 years. The only thing I have had to do is replace snares and my maple one needed a new rim after about 6 years. I recommend a Pearl Super Hoop 2. Its much more durable than the stock one. FYI that is why these piccolos are so cheap.. They skimp on the rim quality. If you lubricate and keep the hardware clean it will last forever.
