The Headliner 410 speaker cab designed from the ground up for the serious bass player looking for a powerful cabinet on a budget. The Peavey Headliner 410 Bass Guitar Amplifier Cabinet is voiced for tight punchy bass with lots of harmonic tone, the versatility and performance of the Headliner 410 encourages use with any fine bass amp head. The Headliner 410 speaker cabinet is constructed using internal bracing, and is covered with road-worthy black carpet. Steel corners protect the cabinet from the rigors of the road. The cabinet includes a black powdercoat finished 16 gauge perforated metal grille.
The four 10 inch ferrite magnet speakers are designed with a rich bass tone in mind. The sealed speaker cabinet insures tight bass notes, with every note rendered precisely. Inputs include two 1/4 inch input phone jacks, and one 4-pin twist-lock connector for maximum flexibility. With a nominal impedance of 8 ohms, and a power handling of 800 watts program and 1600 watts peak, the Headliner 410 can be used in conjunction with any reasonably sized bass amp head. With the 8 ohm impedance, the Peavey Headliner 410 can be easily stacked with a Headliner 210 cabinet on top, resulting in a 4 ohm total load.

Great budget cab to be heard with
Quality
Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable?
So, for a cheapo cabinet, I'm impressed. Construction seems sturdy, decent quality components, and decent tone. If money is the issue stopping you from upgrading from your combo amp to a mini-, half-, or full-stack, check out these Peaveys.

Features
What do you consider to be the best features of this product? What features would you add to this product if you could?
Very nice, but basic, 4x10 box. No horn, which I find a bit disappointing. The drivers' frequency response covers the HF range fairly well, but doesn't have the sharp attack that I like when playing slap. Cab is heavy. But, for this price, I wouldn't expect to get neo drivers. Handles are well positioned for carrying the cabinet in a balanced manner. Sealed cabinet produces good tones.

Sound
How is the tone?
| The tone is certainly not a very hi-fi, accurate tone. It is decent gear that is loud and clear. If you need to be heard, and you are on a budget, this is good gear to purchase. For the price, the sound is great. If you're looking for hi-fi, studio accurate stuff, save your money and spend the money on the high end gear from SWR, GK, MarkBass, etc.
Overall, HF leaves a little to be desired from lack of a horn tweeter. WHEN I order two of these cabinets, I'll probably have horn tweeters installed to fit my style of playing. |
