Vital for the VYPYR
Quality
Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable?
| 1) Topside, the pedal is like a tank. It gets the typical scratches and dings, but weathers well.
2) The underside is a bit less in this department... in order to adjust the expression pedals, you must take the bottom off and that involes about 20 - 25 small phillips screws. I figured I'd leave some of these out the last time I had to make an adjustment so it would be less work in the future but that was a bad idea... use of the board caused stress bends in the bottom sheet metal where the screws were removed. It would have been better to add underside stress bars inside of the unit for the sheet metal to rest on and larger thumb screws for the cover or makean alternate/earier access for adjusting the expression pedals.
3) The tuner is not very reliable
4) The connector for the MIDI cable should have been recessed into the pedal better or routed differently to prevent stress |

Reliability
How has it stood up over time?
It hasn't broken down yeta and I've had it about 2 years so far but refer back to the Quality section for cautions.

General
Your general opinion of this product.
This pedal is a vital component to get the best out of your VYPYR. I have it married to my Tube 60.
|
Playability and Feel
How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing?
It feels just right however the expression pedals may need adjustment out of the box depending on how it came from the factory and the normal effect patch switching doesn;t appear to be instantaneous so you need to get the groove down and learn how to time things. You can;t just hold the button down and release because holding it down for more than 3 secs put it into "store sound in this patch" mode and the release is what triggers the change to that patch. Under "manual" mode where you can toggle each effect of the bank, it reacts much faster

Tone
Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin?

|
Finish
How did the stain or paint job look?
Some people refer to it as a "batarang" but actually I like the way the WAH is on one side and the VOL is on the other with the effects in the middle

Action
How was the action out of the box?
