Peavey ValveKing 212 Guitar Combo Amplifier

Peavey ValveKing Amplifiers are All-tube guitar amps that combine boutique features and hot-rodded tones with legendary Peavey reliability.

ValveKing amps feature a patent-pending, variable Class A/B control called Texture™, which allows sweepable selection between Class A and Class A/B power structures, as well as any combination of the two. Now you can coax virtually any tone from one tweaked-out amp. Preamp and power sections use 12AX7 and 6L6GC tubes, and drive specially voiced 12" ValveKing loudspeakers.

Features include 2 footswitchable channels with independent, 3-band EQ and volume, plus a footswitchable gain/volume boost on the lead channel to provide extra volume for solos. ValveKing amps also feature global resonance, presence and reverb controls, and a buffered effects loop.

Peavey ValveKing 212 Features

  • 100 Watts into 4, 8 or 16 Ohms
  • Four 6L6GC and three 12AX7 tubes
  • DC-powered preamp tube heaters

Overall: I absolutely love this amp...its one of the best sounding amps I'ver ever owned. It sounds better than the Marshall JCM800 half stack I previously owned. My next amp will be the 6505!!
Playability and Feel: This thing is freaking heavy!! very well built!! Again, I've never had a problem with it.

Subject:The Sleeper of amps. The Secret is out!
Quality: It seems to be made fairly well. I dont perceive any problems.
Reliability: Well, my fist one had a reverb section issue. It generated noise in the first couple of days so it went back.
Overall: Great tone, nice and balanced. sweet cleans, sweet crunch, even sweet high gain, which was unexpected. Built like a tank, dont pick it up if you have back problems!
Playability and Feel: The amp is rigid, sturdy, bare bones, yet soulful. The dynamics of tube amps are present in this smp
Tone: The tone is very rich. Harmonics come out easily, you know those rich overtones that quality amps have. Fell in love with the clean tone. I replaced a Fender Blues Deluxe with this. If you can believe it, I actually prefer the Valvekings clean channel to the Fender! The gain channel is loads better than the Fenders. I cannot begin to explain the difference.. Night and Day. super clean channel, super gain channel, plays quietly even at low volumes! Audio taper pots! this amp gets louder bit by bit, where as the Fenders are linear pots and are at full volume at level 2. Thats a bad design from Fender! Costs less than the Fender Hot Rods, and way more useable tones.
Finish: Looks great, nice look to it. Very subdued, subtle. No outlandish modern looks here, just classic Peavey.
Action: N/A
Skill Level: Semi-Pro
