Product Description

The next generation of Peavey’s ValveKing series provides the same boutique quality and incredible prices with some exciting new features! The ValveKing Micro-Head is ideal for players who want a low wattage, versatile amp with great tone. Two EL84 power tubes and three 12AX7 preamp tubes produce 20 watts of power while a variable power switch gives you the option of 5-watts or 1-watt.

For the recording musician, the Peavey ValveKing II Micro-Head features a USB direct recording output, which pipes the mic'ed amp vibe directly into a computer. On the rear panel, the built-in Peavey MSDI (Microphone Simulated Direct Interface) XLR direct interface eliminates the need for miking by allowing users to send the amp's signal directly to a recording device or mixing console.

Cool Low Watt Amp with Plenty of Gain
Your general opinion of this product.
It is a cool amp! It has a nice clean channel with a beautiful reverb. It has tons of gain with a boost that sends the distortion over the top. The ability to drop the wattage from 20w to 5w and 1w make it very versatile. I was considering the Marshall DSL40C but walked over to this hooked up to a 4x12 cab and thought it sounded just as good plus the reverb on the DSL was almost non-existent. This amp lacks the umph of the higher power heads and even the Hughes & Kettner 18w. It sounds a little thin. If the varitube is set in the middle and the bass is set fairly high it sounds a little balsier. For the most part it has great tone and is very fun to play.
