Subject:Lots To Like...and Dislike.
Quality: Well, it is a typical solid open back guitar amp. I push it and hear no rattles. Yes, turning the knobs while "effecting" causes a loud pop which turns the sound off and you have to reboot to get audio back.
Reliability: Use this amp live? I haven't yet, but I'd be nervous as heck. You want an amp to work 100% of the time, not "yes, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't." Completely unacceptable in a live situation.
Overall: I probably should've waited another year or so for the Vypyr 2.0 amp. As it is I'm returning this one because it's not 100% reliable. That is a must.
Playability and Feel: This is an amp, not a guitar. The question doesn't apply.
Tone: Bright tones, thick mids, okay bass...for guitar.
Finish: Looks like bat wings on the front.
Action: Action? Again, this as an amp, not a guitar.
Skill Level: Semi-Pro

Subject:KILLER MODELING AMP!! SMOKES all other WANNABES !!!!
Quality: EXCELLENT AMP,Only Complaint is the plasyic decorative trim is a bit flimsy, and, the Plastic Knobs seem a bit "fragile". No PROBLEMS As YET,But,If you have a Trained Gorilla for a ROADIE If you use this to Gig With-(WHICH IMO IT IS GIG WORTHY!!)-If he bangs it around enough, there may be some broken pieces eventually. MY ADVICE IS A ROAD CASE If you are taking this "on the road"!
Reliability: NO PROBLEMS/GLITCHES WHATSOEVER After a Month of playing through my Vypyr DAILY!
Overall: JUST AN AWESOME AMPTC.
Playability and Feel: N/A
Tone: JUST ONE IMPORTANT NOTE,...BUY THE SANPERA I or II with your Vypyr! It Really Opens up a Whole New SPECTRUM of sound for you, along with letting you access the LOOPEr,Pitch Shifter,Etc,and it's just WAY TOO MUCH FUN FOR ONE PERSON TO BE HAVING!!! :) GREAT Warm Cleans,to Various gain stages, and all the way to "MELT YOUR FACE RIGHT OFF" Hi-Gain HEAVEN!! RICH in Harmonics,FX are LUSH,Ambient,3 Dimensional,...NOT the LIFELESS ,STERILE,Thin,Flat LINE 6 GARBAGE! THE VYPYR Is IMO THE BEST MODWELING AMP OUT THERE,I've NEVER BEEN HAPPIER WITH AN AMP! I've had it for a month, and,if it was like EVERY OTHER Amp I've owned, after the first day or so,I'd be asking myself WHY I BOUGHT IT! Usually frustrated, depressed that there weren't any presets I could TWEAK to get a GOOD Sound,...NOW,WITH THE VYPYR,...I'm Still Finding GREAT TONE,using different combinations of FX,EQ,Gain, etc. The "HONEYMOON AIN'T OVER YET,Nor do I think it will EVER BE!!

Quality: Yes, it's made well enough for carrying only a $200 price tag.
Sound: Impressive tone for a modeling amp.
Reliability: Only owned it for a couple weeks so far.
Overall: I paid $165 for this amp from AMS... it was a "dent n scratch" item but aside from lacking the original packaging, I can't find a scratch on it. Anyway, this amp continues to impress me and I wouldn't hesitate to pay the full street price of $200. I also added a Sanpera I pedal which I also highly recommend... the looper function on the Vypyr is endless fun! If you're in the market for a small, versatile, great-sounding amp, this is it.

Subject:Great Amp
Quality: It feels solid and well made. Again, the additional warranty coverage makes me feel good about it.
Sound: Great sound - distorted and clean. Sounds as close to analog distortion as you can get without tubes. Great emulations of their other amps, JSX, 6505, etc. Can get some really good tones and sounds with all the settings and choices.
Reliability: Dunno yet, but impressed with the additional 3 year warranty coverage through Peavey when you register online.
Overall: So far, so good. Had it for two weeks with no issues yet. Sanpera I or II footswitch seem to be a necessity, however. Alot of different combinations, tones, sounds, etc. Almost too many!
Playability and Feel: N/A
Tone: Tons of different tones and sounds. Get the Sanpera I or II with it though......you'll thank yourself later!!
Finish: Everything was where it is supposed to be. Screws tight and everything works well.

Subject:suprisingly good
Quality: it's a peavey. it has tons of features and is really executed well
Reliability: I can't speak for the reliablity of it - i only played it for about an hour in the guitar shop. I gave it a five because i have a peavey bandit that has been left out in the rain, dropped off the off pick up trucks ect, and i know of a loud speaker that has spent every day for the last 25 years setting outside with the peavey logo on it. I can't help but imagine this thing is just as tough
Overall: this is a really nice guitar amp
Playability and Feel: well i'm going to talk about ease of use here as it makes more sense. It wasn't like programing a rack unit but it was tricky at first figuring out how all the buttons worked but after about 20 minutes i had it all figured out and was able to change the sounds to my liking.
Tone: this thing sounds amazing. Great cleans, awesome high gain settings and super sweet overdrive. it does it all so well. this amp is very flexable.
Finish: it looked fine
Action: n/a
Skill Level: Semi-Pro
Do you own this product?: i didn't buy it but i would if i needed a guitar amp right now.
