Planet Waves Circuit Breaker Guitar Instrument Cable The Planet Waves Circuit Breaker plug has fail-safe operation to save your equipment from loud pops and squeals when you change guitars with a live amp. When the button is pushed, the cable shorts while remaining plugged into your guitar, making on-stage guitar changes a snap, and eliminating any chance of sound bursts. Once the cable is shorted, remove the cable from the guitar being used and plug the cable into the next instrument. Press the button again to re-activate the cable signal. Many shorting plugs include springs that disconnect the signal after removing the plug from the guitar. These springs can wear over time resulting in malfunction and possibly damage to your equipment. Planet Waves Circuit Breaker Instrument Cable will save your equipment from loud pops and squeals while changing guitars with a live amp. When the button is pushed, the cable shorts while remaining plugged in your guitar, making on-stage guitar changes a snap, and eliminating any chance of sound bursts. Plus, since the cable can be shorted without removing the plug from your instrument you can also use the cable to prevent unwanted noise or feedback during breaks from playing.
Once the cable is shorted, remove the cable from the guitar being used and plug the cable into the next instrument. Press the button again to re-activate the cable signal. It’s that easy!!!
Each plug is plated with 24-karat gold and has 8 compression springs that allow the plug to positively lock into the jack, eliminating any annoying static. The Planet Waves Circuit Breaker cable is simply the safest way to prevent damage to your equipment live or in the studio.
FAQ
Will the compression spring on the Planet Waves Cable damage my jack?
No. The compression spring will actually increase the life of your jack by providing a better connection. Planet Waves’ engineering staff has conducted test after test, jamming the plug into and out of guitar jacks for thousands of cycles, and no damage was caused to the jack or the connector.
Why does gold plating Planet Waves Cable connectors make them better?
Gold is a superior electrical conductor and is corrosion resistant.

QUALITY: Very well made , I've had this cable for 0ver 3 years now.
FEATURES: The on/ off button and sound quality make this product.
EASE OF USE: Too easy to use.
VALUE: A great value.
SOUND: It's quiet , gives good sound qualities and the on/ off features will save your speakers when you unplug/ plug when your amp is loud. Trust me I blew out speakers when I unpluged once in front of an audience......I wouldn't want this to happen to anyone. | |

| The button seems a little funky, but it works as stated, cuts out the instrument quickly, allows for quick change and seems to be what I've been looking for. I play electric Autoharp, using more than one harp at a performance as they are both Chromatic and Diatonic (1 or 2 keys only), I change out between songs and this allows for very quick action. My only concern is how dependable the circuitry will be over time.. | | Features:
| It really speeds up and enables quick changes of electric instruments. I would be more comfortable with a "rocker" type switch (like a positive on/off designation) It appears as if it might be easy to accidentally hit the switch when inserting it into another harp and end up defeating the purpose for getting this item. | | Ease of Use:
| It's almost too easy to use...as noted in Features. | | Value:
| The value is not applicable to the item since it seems to be the only item of it's kind available on the market, so price is up to the manufacturer or retailer. | |

| I've bought six of these, two of them have failed me completely, one I was able to resecure using their cool design features; unscew cover, cut wire, reinstall wire, re-screw cover... simple... if it was only more durable. | | Features:
| Awesome for when I have to switch between two acoustics or two electric guitars... love the concept! It's payed off when I'm out gigging and need a quick guitar change. | | Ease of Use:
| Simple, even a monkey could do it, although, I am eating a bananna right. | | Value:
| It's a toss-up... I'm ordering two more cuz I love the system, being able to turn off your guitar without having to adjust amp volumes is pretty cool I have to admit... just wished they would last longer... may have to pay more attention to the warranty on these suckers. | |
