    Product Description

The Steelaire Combo from Quilter provides maximum portability with a slimline cabinet housing a front loaded 15 inch neodynium speaker. 200 clean watts and a rich feature set provide ultimate performance for any musician.

The speaker is the result of a lengthy collaboration between Pat Quilter and Eminence Speakers. Quilter started with Eminence's rugged cast-frame 15 inch platform for maximum durability. To this they added a 3-inch aluminum voice coil and hyperbolic cone to assure outstanding frequency response, power handling, and freedom from breakup. As a finishing touch, a 4 inch aluminum dome adds a hint of sweet metallic tang, resulting in a creamy full bodied tone with a citrus-y finish.

Quilter Steelaire Combo Guitar Amplifier Features

    • Powerful: 200 watts (400 watts of internal headroom for maximum voltage swing)
    • Dual inputs: Supports multiple instruments or buffered pedal loop
    • Input mode selector: Selects Ch1, Mute, Ch2, or Ch1+2
    • 4 Band EQ: Bass(100 Hz), Low Mid(500 Hz), High Mid(2kHz), Treble(5kHz)
    • Limiter: Fully adjustable from clean to dirty
    • Tremolo: Adjustable depth and rate
    • Reverb: Adjustable depth, dwell, and tone
    • Master: Adjusts output power from 0 to 200 watts
    • Dual speaker outputs: 1/4 inch, 2 to 16 ohms
The cabinet is the result of a lengthy series of tone tests conducted with top professional players from coast to coast. The slimline cabinet is easy to carry and requires minimal space on stage. The front mounted speaker, combined with calibrated cabinet dimensions, provides maximum clarity of mids and highs, while delivering big clean lows. Quilter’s panel of experts frequently need to get on and off stage in less than a minute, so they provided internal room for accessory stowage, and cable routing slots that keep everything tucked safely away.

The slimline Steelaire chassis delivers a full 200 watts, with plenty of reserve voltage swing, into the 4 ohm speaker. With selectable input channels, a 4 band EQ, an adjustable limiter, tremolo, and a full-service reverb section, you get a full tool kit to optimize the sound of your instrument. In addition, a unique back panel effects loop with 9 volt DC supply allows you to wire in accessory pedals of your choice, and control them remotely, using one of our 6 position remote controls.

    Now I'm a believer.

What is your opinion of this product?
Let's go through the customary background stuff first. Been playing guitar for thirty years, lots of gear, gigging and touring for the last decade, blah, blah, blah. Bugged my buddy Deke incessantly about the Quilters and he simply said, " Just play one. You'll see." He was right. This thing is super versatile. I could dial in the same sound from my 64 Ampeg B12XY. In fact it sounded like a fuller version of that amp. The more I play it the more the speaker breaks in and the warmer it gets. It can be a bit bright at first, but then again I use filtertrons and lipstick pickups. I don't regret this purchase at all. I'm going to clear out the herd of heavy tube amps. I will eventually get the big foot controller and possibly the closed back extension cab. Great job Quilter Labs. I am a very satisfied customer.

    Great little amp
What is your opinion of this product?
This is a great little amp with big power. Lots of ways to dial in different tones. Easy to move around, very light. The Eminence speaker is one badass speaker. It's really a great all around amp,I'm playing fiddle through it and I'm pleased with the performance.

    While new world!
What is your opinion of this product?
I bought this amp specifically to play an American Deluxe Tele (Both a Thinline and an Ash body models) and for a Duesenberg Fairytale Lap Steel. Thrilled with the purchase and so happy with the versatility it offers. I have put my '74 Fender Twin and Deluxe Reverb amps in the closet. Very pedal friendly. Build quality is excellent. 6 button footswitch (purchased direct from Quilter) is a must have. Worth every penny for both. AMS was top notch in all respects.

    Great Amp
What is your opinion of this product?
This amp is great for pedal steel. It's warm sounding and articulates the nuances of the steel guitar exceptionally. Sure, it's expensive, but you won't feel cheated. It's just that good.

    Impressed!
What is your opinion of this product?
The Steelaire is a great amp. Lots of big sound at any volume. I play country with pedal steel and tele through it. Nice loud crystal clear cleans and accepts pedals well for dirt. My only complaint would be to use the amps built in overdrive (without pedals) it has to be turned up fairly loud. This probably is not an issue for stage use however. Lots of ways to dial-in about any tone you're after.

    My Dream Amp
What is your opinion of this product?
I've only been playing pedal steel for two years. I've tried a Peavey Nashville, a Peavey LA 400, a Fender Twin Reverb, and various other amps. From the first chords the Steelaire has finally given me the sound I was looking for.... and in a lightweight, very attractive cabinet. With an AMS 10% off promotion and no interest payments I could finally afford one. Its a double bonus that my tele sounds great through it also. Everyone has different tastes but my search for a steel amp is over!
