Radial Tonebone Hot British Tube Distortion Pedal

The Tonebone Hot British is distortion at its best! From fat hot-wired Marshall tones to the huge scooped out mid sounds, the Hot British is blistering brute force extraordinaire! Based on high-gain amplifier designs, the Hot British is tailored to extract ultra-rich harmonics and full-on saturated tube settings without the mud or noise that is typical with other pedals. The powerful EQ settings truly allow the player to dial in to the type of tones that create everything from chunky rhythms to sizzling lead solos. Best of all, even when pushing the Hot British beyond the limits, your natural dynamics and feel still shine through.

Welcome to a world where Tone reigns supreme, where dynamics live and breathe, and where uniqueness and individuality shine through. Welcome to Radial Tonebone.

Over twenty years ago, we started developing tube amplifier and tube pedal technology with a single goal in mind: To create devices for professional musicians that would combine exceptional sound quality with straight ahead functionality. In other words, build products that are intuitive and musical. Ultimately, we believe that these 'tools' will have achieved their goal by spurring on the creative process.

Radial products are used by many of the world's most notable professionals. These include Bryan Adams, Bruce Springsteen, Seal, The Rolling Stones, k d lang, Celine Dion, Nine Inch Nails, Journey, I Mother Earth, Randy Travis, The Barenaked Ladies, Tony Levin, Faith Hill, Janet Jackson, The Yellowjackets, Alain Caron, Al Demiola, The California Acoustic Trio, Any Difranco, Will Lee, Def Leppard, Styx, Santana, and so many others.

Over the next while, the Radial Tonebone line will expand with many new products for guitarists and bassists. We invite you to check back with us and send us your thoughts and comments, especially if you have an idea for a new device or even a twist on something old. The best and most innovative ideas always come from our friends and users!

Radial, True to the Music.

Tone.... Ask any professional guitar player and they will tell you that nothing is more important than tone. The Radial Tonebone is rich in harmonics and huge in its tonal range. From fat, cutting-edge rhythms to powerful screaming solos, the Tonebone has it all. Two Tonebones to chose from: Classic and Hot British.

Tonebone Classic
The Tonebone Classic is inspired by American guitar tradition. The natural distortion of the original Bassman, the sweet-spot of a Vintage Tweed, to those hot-rod amp tones that that smoke the blues and whistle Dixie all night long. They're are all in the Classic.

Tonebone Hot British
The Tonebone Hot British sweeps you from Liverpool to London, from the sound of a 4x12 double stack to the power-chord mayhem of metal thrashing over barbed wire. Tube distortion for those that want extreme.

The Magic Lantern!
Look inside and you'll see a warm glow; Tonebone uses tube driven circuitry to achieve a natural even harmonic saturation that's just not attainable with transistors and modelling. Move a knob and you know you have entered a world where control is all powerful and tonal range extreme. Every control is there for a reason... Tone. Even in the bypass position, Tonebone's 'true-bypass' give you the sound of your guitar, pure and real.

Built like a Tank...
Compact to fit on a pedal board and strong enough to drive over, Tonebone is made of 14-gauge steel throughout with a baked enamel finish to handle abuse. Our heavy-duty foot switch is designed to handle thousands of cycles to provide years of trouble-free performance.

No 'pretty boy' modeling here!
You wont find that 'pre-packaged and 'slicker than frozen-dinner' sound in Tonebone. We designed Tonebone to allow 'your natural stylings' to shine through. The worlds greatest guitar players got that way cause they found their own sound. This is their signature. This is what Radial Tonebone is all about: Tone, Dynamics and Individuality.

Subject:Good pedal
Quality: Good quality, nothing out of place, pretty heavy pedal.
Sound: Tone is good creeping up on great,it does not have alot of low end, seems to have the AC/DC thing going real well for it.was not as "warm" as I thought it would be,but it does the job for me, I stack it with my other OD pedals and it pushes my amp real well with them. This is not the "holy grail" of pedals, but it does give you some nice tones alone or stacked.
Reliability: Have not owned it that long but seems well built
Overall: I got this pedal on a whim, wanting to add more distortion to my line up.It's pretty good by itself, stacks good with other pedals alot of options with the controls and switches.I can make it thin and crunchy or dark and saturated. It definatly has a character all of it's own. I find myself using it by itself more times than not.Compared to my other OD/Distortions(high end),it is not as transparent as them,it does give a small coloration to the tone, but nothing that makes you not like it.Sounds pretty good thru my tube amp,not sure how it would sound on a Solid State?Don't think it's worth $200,I picked mine up for alot less. And I am happy with the results.Try it before you buy it!
Playability and Feel: N/a
Tone: As I said it has a real nice tone to it,there is not alot of low end,so you heavy hitters may want to buy something else. It is great for blues to hard rock.Alot of options to play with, all the controls are very unique in adding or changing the over all tone. I wish all pedals were made like this!
Finish: Not bad,but I do not buy pedals for their looks.
Action: all the controls and switches seem tight and quite no problems here
Skill Level: Semi-Pro
