Ease of Use
How easy is this product to use? How easy is the product to use with other products? Did it take long for you to learn to use this product? Was the manual helpful? How playable do you consider this product to be?
Pretty easy to use. Plug in your interface and any other type of peripherals you desire.
Your general opinion of this product.
I've built my own recording computers for years, but figured it was time to see what the specific music production companies were all about. I was extremely disappointed. I did just as good a job, and at about half the price Rain is selling the Stratus for. This PC is noisy, and not just the hard drive I mentioned earlier. The CPU fan is the loudest fan I've ever heard. After about 6 months of use I started experiencing drop outs during playback, after changing absolutely nothing. My guess is the hard drive is slowly dying. I addressed this with Rain and they assured me the hard drive is not dying. Time will tell, but I won't be returning to Rain for my next PC purchase. If I can't even listen back to what I've created without dropouts, it's only a matter of time before I lose the perfect take due to this PC's lack of quality components. Their support is top-notch in terms of response time, and they stand firmly behind their inferior products.
Was this item an overall good value?
No. I spent way too much money on an inferior product. The "tweaks" they made to Windows are the same ones that every home recording novice knows about. If you don't, do a Google search and make the adjustments.
