| The build quality is excellent and high quality materials. The screen is fantastic and very usable. Coming from Windows/Mac it may take a little adjustment to use the mouse in a different way, but it is pretty intuitive. | | Features:
| The best feature is the studio mode with songs supporting MIDI *and* audio tracks. The phantom power available to my microphone and the integration into my PC with the USB Audio to sample soft-synths is incredible. The only thing I'd modify is a little bit more intuitive sampling, although I've been spoiled by Kontakt 3 in this regard. It's much better than the MPC1000 and an improvement upon the MC909. In fact, it's like having an excellent Roland synth, a fully featured studio multi-track recorder, and sampler built into one unit. Fantastic! | | Ease of Use:
| You do have to dig in the manual when you get into the depths of expanding RAM and learning how the memory saves work. I wish there was a way to save the phrases within a song rather than them being global to the 'project'. But the project concept itself is a really cool feature I haven't seen on other workstation hardware. | | Sound:
| The sounds are great and span a wide variety. You can find just about anything you want easily with the category system. The screen makes it easier to browse patches, so you can find the sounds fast. I was a tiny bit disappointed in the onboard electronic drum kits, but i figure they are trying to sell the ARX expansion for that if you really really need it. That'll be next on my wish list. | | Action:
| After using controllers like the Korg Kontrol 49 and M-Audio series, I had got used to a little bit of a lighter feel. However, this thing has excellent response and when playing dynamic instruments (like Piano, bass, and drums) from the keyboard, I appreciate the very tactile feedback of the keys. The pads are a bit smaller than the MPC and Axiom controllers, so your aim has to be good. I'm trying to figure out the velocity adjustments for the pads because I never seem to hit them hard enough. Then again, I might just be too shy about beating it to death! | | Value:
| I got it on sale, so it was a great value. I immediately had to pay about $20 to upgrade the sample ram from 32MB to 512MB, but that doesn't exactly break the bank. The new OS 1.20 even supports 1Gig RAM, but I couldn't find any. I feel if they had included a bit more RAM to start with it would have been more 'ready-to-go' for sampling. | | Do you own this product?:

| I have been playing drums since I can remember and over the years I have come up with numerous ideas that I would have to put on the shelf because of old technology...Studio time is expensive and you lose alot of the inspiration to studio engineers plus cost and preparation. Now...if I have an idea for a song I can make it happen while it happens. That is the feature I like most. I can record Vocals, Keys, Drums, Guitar, Bass and hundreds of the most exotic instruments in the world if I like. | | Ease of Use:

| I bought the Roland Fantom G6 and The ARX Supernatural 01 (Drums) expansion card and alot of other goodies...but hearing a multitrack recording of my work? "Priceless". | | Do you own this product?:
