Best Schecter EVER!!!
Quality
Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable?
Schecter is a top notch company in my opinion. I love everything about this guitar.
Reliability
How has it stood up over time?
I've only owned my 7 string for less than a month, but the 8 string of the same model has never given me any issues what so ever. This thing is built like a tank. It's solid and reliable but not bulky and heavy. Amazing balance of durability and reliatbility.
Overall
Your general opinion of this product.
This is honestly the best guitar I've ever owned. I've been a Schecter player for over 10 years. I have yet to be dissapointed. This guitar sits above the rest. I liked the model so much I bought it in a 7 and 8 string version.
Playability and Feel
How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing?
Plays like a dream. Neck is extremely fast. The body has a solid feel to it but won't kill your back like a Gibson or something. The neck through, string through design looks sexy and adds an amazing amount of sustain.
Tone
Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin?
Amazing tone for whatever your needs. Bright, crisp attack; warm, clean gain; sustain forever. The blackouts are the greatest active pickups ever. And that's something because I was sold on passives for years!!
Finish
How did the stain or paint job look?
I have both the aged glossy white and the satin black finishes. Each look amazing in their own right. It's a win-win really.
Action
How was the action out of the box?
The guitar came set up perfectly. The action was just right. It plays amazing right out of the box.

Excellent 7 String
Quality
Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable?
In inspecting the internal control section (under the hood), it appears to be a little brittle in my opinion, though the wiring was perfect and neat in the compartment, the jumpers are what would bother me or could be a concern. It is perfectly grounded, however and there is little buzz or hiss other than what your amp would put out.
Reliability
How has it stood up over time?
I believe that this guitar will be quite reliable and I am impressed with the quality of the internal and external components from the pots and capacitors to the frets, tuners, bridge and pickups. The construction of the body is VERY good, smooth, love the color, though it did have to grow on me a bit. The fretboard is excellent and the neck/body joint is very smooth as well.
Overall
Your general opinion of this product.
This is an excellent 7 string for the money. I have been playing for 30 years and this is my first 7 string that I have purchased, though, I have played quite a few.
Playability and Feel
How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing?
It is extremely light and very comfortable especially for a 7 string. The controls are in the perfect positions and extremely flexible. You can play jazz, country or metal on this guitar with no problems in my opinion.
Tone
Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin?
To me the tone is where this guitar really shines, if you want the versatility of a semi passive guitar tone, this will get you there. I think this is why so many people refer to the difference in the tone to EMG's as more organic. I can get some Strat type tones out of it and some les paul on steroids tones out of it as well. USE THE TONE CONTROL, it is very good and can make real changes that you can hear that will be help you achieve the desired tone. The pickups are hot, but definitely not overbearing. Ballsy and bright but not too bright. Deep and mellow but not like an EMG 85 or 89 in the neck position, that is too muddy for me.
Finish
How did the stain or paint job look?
The finish was great except for one spot on the binding that appears to have been filled and not completely covered properly with paint. Looks like a ding, though there is no indentation. Everything else was perfect.
Action
How was the action out of the box?
For me the action was a bit high, though certainly playable. I changed the strings (.09 - .58 (GHS)), checked the intonation (which was right on) moved the bridge down about 2 turns and it plays like a dream for me.
