Tuned from B to B the Baritone guitar plays just like your standard electric, but the tone is so much beefier. Unlike many Baritone guitars, Schecter's Hellraiser C1 EX Electric Guitar has a 26.5 inch scale to achieve that much sought after guitar sound that fills the heavy playing groups with a lower mid-range. The Hellraiser C1 EX offers all that extra meat and excellent features including a 3-piece mahogany neck, mahogany body and EMG active pickups.

| My favorite Schecter so far! |
| Quality |
| Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable? |
| The quality is really great. Every Schecter I've had, has been well worth the money, and this one is no exception. Really sad to see that it's no longer available...I may have even bought the last one! Haven't had this one very long, but I know they're dependable, since I've had Schecters before. |
|
| Reliability |
| How has it stood up over time? |
| Schecters are well built guitars, and I don't expect any problems over time. The black chrome finish usually tarnishes a bit, but other than that...nada. |
|
| Overall |
| Your general opinion of this product. |
| I love it!! Love B tuning, and this guitar just sounds great. The tappable EMG's may not have QUITE the output as their non-tappable counterparts, but it still sounds awesome, and the versatility more than makes up for it. I would highly recommend checking into an EX if you like low tunings. Sending back the Epiphone Love/Death and getting this, was a great decision. |
|
| Playability and Feel |
| How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing? |
| Playability is great. Neck is a little thick, like other Schecters, but it's not a problem. Controls are nice and simple, but I would prefer single volume for both pickups, as opposed to having separate volume knobs for each. That, and I like ebony boards better, are my ONLY gripes. Not really gripes I guess...just personal preferences. |
|
| Tone |
| Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin? |
| Tone is tremendous. This guitar sounds brutal, and cleans up so nice. With the versatility of the tappable EMG's, it's really hard to complain. |
|
| Finish |
| How did the stain or paint job look? |
| The finish was great...which has been the case with every Schecter I've had/seen. No imperfections. Pretty much on par with other Korean guitars that I've had. |
|
| Action |
| How was the action out of the box? |
| Action was just a little high out of the box, but that was a quick fix. Wasn't really offensive, I just like it a little lower. Tuning and intonation were really pretty close, right out of the box! |
