Schecter Damien 7 7-String Electric Guitar

The Schecter Damien 7 takes aim at the 7 string hard rock guitarist.
The Damien 7 is a beast of a guitar that uses EMG HZ7A humbucker pickups on an arched basswood body for the ultimate combination of tone and comfort. Other features include a bolted-on rock maple neck and a rosewood fingerboard with extra jumbo frets. The Sinister Satin Black finish, black hardware and black pearl bat inlays compliment the Damien's aggressive sound.

Quality:

construction of this instrument is overall decent. The nuances and engineering behind this brand and are featured in the instruments are superior to a lot of the major brands, the neck reinforcement joint is very underrated.

Sound:

The tone for this guitar is good, I would definitely go with some EMG707's or some 81-7's, but the HZ's that come stock sound good. I restrung mine with Zakk Wylde Ghs Boomers (70-10) and tuned it down to A-Standard, it performed great.

Reliability:

It's taken a few knocks, but for a string through, it holds tuning pretty well and is my go-to for a 7 string.

Overall:

Overall, this is the one of the best entry model 7-strings you can buy. It doesn't weigh a lot, the stock pickups are okay and the over all tone is great.

Playability and Feel:

Fast neck, chunk city on the neck pickup, near molten leads on the bridge pickup, neck feels like greased lightning on steroids.

Tone:

Pickups sound great on this guitar, no need really to swap them unless you are a tone tweeker. I would simply because i prefer active pickups to passive. Tone ranges fairly well with this guitar, I plan on upgrading to the Floyd Rose model soon.

Finish:

I may have gotten a B-stock that missed it's stamp. the Binding on the body(there is some) was a bit discolored and there was a small check on the headstock.

Action:

Action was smooth and not too high or low, unlike the Schecter A-7 I have. Very good with harmonics and the frets are the great super jumbo's you can expect from Schecter.
