    Overall Rating
Your general opinion of this product.
Was unsure of this guitar due to price, and build location. AMS had an offer for a d/s (Dent & Scratch) lefty model at 399.99. This was enough to get me to buy it. I have been playing for 29 years and own several high-end guitars including Jackson, Charvel, Ibanez, Fender, Dean, and more. I needed a work-horse that I could drag around and not worry about beating on. Something that would stay in tune no matter what the tuning was. So far, this guitar has EASILY stood up to the best of them. And for the price, it's unbeatable.
Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable?
Typically when I purchase a new guitar, the first thing to go are the P/U's. I need them hot and screaming. Having emg's already installed in a few of my axes, I knew what to expect. Having all of the elements you need without any modifications is worth the price alone. Good p/u's, good tuning keys, decent sustain, and a beautiful finish. When I got this the first thing I thought was, "This is a dent and scratch model?" - As far as I am concerned, I got a NEW model for a USED price. When AMS says they inspect the guitars and they only have minor flaws, the are absolutely telling the truth. If this guitar has flaws, I can't find them.. At our local Guitar Mart they had a righty version of this guitar. Pick scratches on the body front, belt scratches on the back, and a missing knob. They were only willing to provide a 25.00 discount. AMS, you have my business forever! The worst thing about this guitar, is the strings that it came with. Easy fix.
Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin?
I am running this through a Boss GT-10. I can make this guitar sound anyway I want it to. But, based on the setup and hardware, this guitar is more suited for Hard Rock and Metal.
How did the stain or paint job look?
BEAUTIFUL finish. Us lefties are usually stuck with basic colors, Black, White, etc. Thank you Schecter for making a finish outside of the normal for us left-handers!
