Product Description

Armed with a Schecter custom Super Rock humbucker pickup at the bridge and a Monster Tone II pickup in the neck position you'll have full control over tonal approaches.
With classic tones to aggressive modern sounds, the Schecter Diamond P Custom Electric Bass is becomming a new choice for touring and recording bassists. Coil-splitting the Super Rock pickup extends the range of the Diamond P custom bass into vintage revisits.

Schecter Diamond P Custom Electric Bass Guitar Features:

  • Alder body with Bolt-on maple neck
  • 21 Fret Rosewood fingerboard
  • 34 inch scale length
  • Schecter Custom Top Load/String-Thru mass bridge
  • Super Rock and Monster Tone II Pickups
  • Grover Vintage tuners
Road tested and reliable Grover Vintage Tuners hold the strings over the Schecter custom Top Load/String Thru high mass bridge—which allows for tensioned dropped tunings many metal players use. The Diamond-P bass' 34 inch scale maple neck boasts 21 frets on the rosewood fingerboard, with an alder body.

Tuners - Grover Vintage
Precision and durability with classic styling. The die cast housing is a sturdy foundation for maintaining center lines of the worm and gear. A fixed bearing surface in the housing creates a smooth turning surface for easy tuning. The safety string post and ‘elephant ear’ button provide utility and a vintage look.

Finger Board - Rosewood
The most common fretboard, Rosewood is naturally oily, and works well for any surface that sees frequent human contact. The sound is richer in fundamental than Maple because the stray overtones are absorbed into the oily pores.

Pickups - Schecter Diamond SuperRock Bass / Diamond P
Bridge: Two Jazz pickups in one casing. In two Coil mode the Midrange is powerful with a nice punch. When Push-Pull Tone knob is pulled up the Single coil tone is classic with Jazzy lows and highs. Neck: Over wound coils with Ceramic magnets give this pickup configuration a hot output that will dominate any standard P-Bass pickup.

Neck - Maple
Maple has a uniform grain, it’s strong and stable, and it has less reaction from environmental changes than other hardwoods. Its tone is highly reflective, and focuses more energy onto the body wood. Maple transfers a bright tone to the body which complements the warm tones of a mahogany body.

Bridge - Schecter Custom String Thru
This Massive Schecter bridge uniquely allows the player to tailor string tension and 'feel', with the choice of traditional 'top load' stringing, thru-body, or a combination of both! Thru body stringing increases string tension and clarity, which is popular with player's tuning below standard 'A' 440.

Quality
Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable?
I have another Schecter bass that has been my #1 bass since 2002. I think Schecter's quality, in the two basses that I own, is fantastic. No issues with the other guitar EVER. And I expect this one to be the same. The bang for your buck is exceptional. I highly recommend them.
Features
What do you consider to be the best features of this product? What features would you add to this product if you could?
I love the push/pull tone pot. You can get a wide variety of sounds and I found one that suits me to a T. The only thing that I would change on the bass is the plastic nut. I would definitely add a graphite nut, and I will do that modification eventually.
Tone
Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin?
The highs cut through like nobodys business. The lows are punchy and full. I've read other reviews of this bass that said the pickups were too hot and were overdriving the amplifiers. I haven't had that experience with this bass myself
Finish
How did the stain or paint job look?
The paint job is beautiful although not accurately depicted. I got the dark blue metallic and it definitely looks bluer in the photos. Mine almost is a dark teal metallic. I was sort of disappointed in that. The quality of the finish is great however and together with the black pickguard and massive chrome bridge it is still a handsome guitar.
