Schecter Jeff Loomis FR 7-String Electric GuitarThe extended scale Loomis 7-String features an arched ash body with a maple set-neck and makes other guitars tremble in its presence. The 26.5 inch scale length of this guitar allows for some of the meatiest, crunchiest tone around. Jeff Loomis knows that access to the upper frets is important, and so does Schecter, the Loomis 7-String utilizes Schecter's Ultra Access neck-joint to get the most out of your fingerboard. Other features include powerful EMG 707 pickups and an original Floyd Rose tremolo.

Schecter Jeff Loomis Great Guitar Crappy Setup from the Factory
Quality
Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable?
The guitar was made well however, the finish was grainy and the relief in the neck was horrible when I got it from American Musical. I contacted Schecter and they said that it could have been the conditions during shipping wood relief and all that. I am not buying it. I have never gotten a guitar that was set up that needed so much as a quarter turn on the Truss rod to take out the neck relief. 7 FULL turns later the neck is perfect.
Reliability
How has it stood up over time?
I am sure that it will stand the test of time, it is a good instrument. Clean electronics and very nice overall.

Your general opinion of this product.
Overall this is a good product, I would recommend it to anyone that is looking for a good quality 7 string with Floyd.
Playability and Feel
How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing?
It is heavier than my ATX C7 but the differences in the wood is the tell all there. Good tone, not excellent, I like Duncans better, but I do also love this guitar, nice Crunch and very clean sounding (note articulation).
Tone
Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin?
It is bright without being too bright. Nice Chunk pickups are not hot, but provide good overall tone. I did not have to adjust the pickups at all they were set perfectly from the factory.
Finish
How did the stain or paint job look?
Finish was grainy, this seems to be the Achilies heel for Schecter, both instruments had blemishes in the finish. I would expect better.
Action
How was the action out of the box?
Like I said above, the action was horrible out of the box, but I was able to make adjustments and get it exactly the way that I like it. Never had this problem with the ATX I got last year.
