Schecter Raiden Special 5 String Electric Bass Guitar

The Schecter Raiden Special 5 String Bass has amazing features that beat out many basses far above its price range. Featuring Schecter SuperRock bass pickups which are two Jazz pickups in one casing, creating a thundering bass punch. The tone knob also acts as a pickup tap that will split the Jazz pickups for a more traditional bright tone, great for many styles of music!

Schecter Bass Tuners
Schecter Bass tuners provide high quality, precision tuning with minimum weight. Details include a 17:1 gear ratio allowing for precise fine tuning adjustments, removable knobs, threaded peghead bushing, and a 13.6mm diameter peg hole.

Rosewood Fingerboard
The most common fretboard, Rosewood is naturally oily, and works well for any surface that sees frequent human contact. The sound is richer in fundamental than Maple because the stray overtones are absorbed into the oily pores.

Schecter SuperRock Bass Pickups
Two Jazz pickups in one casing. In two Coil mode the midrange is powerful with a nice punch. When Push-Pull Tone knob is pulled up the Single coil tone is classic with Jazzy lows and highs.

Diamond DLX String Thru Bridge
Traditional steel plated bridge with increased string travel for extra intonation adjustment and string through body design.

Schecter SGR10R Style Case
To protect and transport your guitar, Schecter recommends the optional SGR10R Style Bass Guitar Case (#SCE SGR10R).

Quality
Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable?
This bass feels like I can drop it from a 10 foot ledge and it will still work. It feels that way, though I'm confident it doesn't work that way. This bass is very sturdy in your hands.
Features
What do you consider to be the best features of this product? What features would you add to this product if you could?
Not too many features, but the push\pull knob that switches from single coil to the humbucker let's vary my tone in a great way. The tuning pegs on this bass are fantastic, they are real precise and strong. You won't be needing to tune this bass over and over and over again.
Sound
How is its Tone?
I was blown away with this tone. I can stress how much I love the Schecter tone.
Playability and Feel
How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing?
This bass was heavy to me at first, but that was due to the fact I own an artificially constructed bass, so the difference between wood and luthite was noticeable. The neck is nice a thick, but fast to play on.
Tone
Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin?
I felt the tone can be changed from dark to bright, though it is very mellow naturally.
Finish
How did the stain or paint job look?
My favorite colors are red and black, so this in itself was amazing. But the nice and dark smokey finish is something out of this world, I love it.
Action
How was the action out of the box?
When I initially purchased this bass, the action was great. Nice and low, but had some fret buzz for the first couple frets. But no need to worry, a little adjustment of the truss rod, and it quickly made that buzz vanish while keeping a great low action.
