Quality
Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable?
The guitar is very well made. I'm fussy about frets, and the fret job was very good; nicely finished ends.
Reliability
How has it stood up over time?
Looks very well made.
Overall
Your general opinion of this product.
I am generally not a fan of the Schecter products, but have been looking for a guitar with 24.5 scale length, a bridge humbucker and a neck P-90. Thought I'd give it a try. Very impressed, especially at this price point.
Playability and Feel
How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing?
This is a single-cutaway, Les Paul-style guitar. I am a 335 fan, so I wasn't sure if I was going to like this. The neck is chunky, but not a baseball bat. The "all-access" neck heel makes the upper frets somewhat more accessible that an LP.
Tone
Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin?
Lots of tones between the humbucker and the P-100, especially with coil-tapping on each. The only thing that needed inmprovement was the range on the tone controls. All the change is between 2 and 0 on the knobs.
Finish
How did the stain or paint job look?
The South Koreans have their act together. Fit and finish was very, very good.
Action
How was the action out of the box?
A little high on the bass side, a little low on the treble side for my taste. Intonation was good on 5 of 6 strings. Minor tweak to the B string was necessary.
