Schecter Stiletto Studio 8 String Electric Bass GuitarWe have never sold a bass that sounds as huge as this incredibly affordable 8-string Stiletto Studio 8. Often only available as a custom shop bass, the Studio 8-string's double octave design produces its own wall of sound. The 8-string is a neck-thru beauty with a mahogany with bubinga body or mahogany with quilted maple, finished in a Natural Honey Satin or See Thru Black Satin. The Studio is armed with EMG HZ pickups, with a mid control on its 3-band EQ. Other features include Grover/Schecter tuners, a maple/walnut neck and 24 jimbo frets on its rosewood fingerboard.

Beautiful Instrument
Quality
Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable?
This Bass Just Smokes! I might even consider buying a second one!
Features
What do you consider to be the best features of this product? What features would you add to this product if you could?
This bass is well made! Completely SOLID! My band mates could not believe the sound I got out if it!
Sound
How is its Tone?
The range is very good, although, as with someone Else's review, I don't necessarily care for the strings that are on it. I am used to playing a heavier gauge for more thump, but that is easily fixable!
Playability and Feel
How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing?
Everything is well set up on this bass, the neck is fast and the action was like butter! after taking it out of the box and doing a quick tune on it, I was amazed when I looked up at the clock and 4 hours had past and my fingers felt as fresh as when I started!
Tone
Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin?
Again, with different strings, all would be perfect with this Bass, the pick-ups are unbelievable and the variation you can get from bridge to neck is fantastic!
Finish
How did the stain or paint job look?
I got a Woody for the Thru Body Wood! It is beautiful!
Action
How was the action out of the box?
The action was set up wonderfully, played smooth as butter!

Great bass!
Quality
Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable?
| It's pretty well made and SOLID. This thing isn't light-get a wide, comfortable strap. There was one minor issue where two woods met that could have been sanded/buffed down a little better, but it's pretty minor and can only be seen if you are actively looking for defects.
Only time will tell how durable this will be. There is a *TON* of tension on the neck! Don't be surprized if the neck does some funny things when you change strings. It literally 'popped' backward when I took the strings off, then 'popped' forward again as I added tension with the new ones. Not sure what to make of that and how it will be affected over time. |

What do you consider to be the best features of this product? What features would you add to this product if you could?
Tone controls and onboard EQ are extremely versatile.
Sound
How is its Tone?
GREAT! And very unique. I don't know what the stock strings are, but they are garbage. Replace them immediately. I have Boomers on there now and it sounds great.
Playability and Feel
How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing?
Neck is very fast, action very low. Some harmonics are tough to pull off with such a variance in size or the corsed strings. Two-handed tapping sounds unbelievable.
Tone
Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin?
LOUD! Probably the loudest bass I've ever owned. I have other basses with active electronics, but this thing SCREAMS. With the onboard EQ, you can get pretty much whatever tone you are looking for.
Finish
How did the stain or paint job look?
Satin finish looks great! Not outstanding, but very satisfied.
Action
How was the action out of the box?
Action was perfect right out of the box. I've heard some complaints about fret buzz, but none to be found on mine.
