Seagull created the
Maritime SWS Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar with solid wood construction including a select pressure tested solid spruce top and solid mahogany back and sides. The solid top is pressure tested to ensure the highest level of firmness and rigidity. This also allows the maximum harmonic vibration benefiting the overall tone, resonance and projection increasing the lifespan of the guitar. The Maritime SWS guitar has a semi-gloss custom polished finish giving it a gorgeous satin sheen accentuating the natural wood grain of the instrument. More importantly, the finish provides protection but is also extremely light and elastic allowing the guitar to breathe and vibrate freely. This custom finish also provides the guitar a way to age that makes its sound to improve the more it’s played over time.
The SWS dreadnaught bracing material is made of the lightweight and strong Adirondack spruce. This provides the strength needed to resist string tension without weighing down the top, allowing it to be more responsive and vibrate freely. Seagull arched the top slightly above the sound hole resisting downward pressure created by the fingerboard and increases the structural integrity of the top. The integrated set neck system of the SWS dreadnought guitar allows for more consistent and stable action while significantly reducing warping and twisting of the neck, largely attributed to changes in climate. It also features tapered headstocks that allow straight string pull, making tuning and staying in tune easier and the double action truss rods bend in both directions providing exceptional control over the neck.
