Sennheiser e609 Silver Dynamic Instrument Microphone

The Sennheiser e609 Silver Dynamic Instrument Microphone is based on the legendary Sennheiser MD 409 microphone. Able to withstand high SPLs without distorting, the e609 Silver's flat-profile capsule allows extremely close miking of guitar cabinets and precise drum miking, particularly toms. The e609 Silver's super-cardioid design improves isolation while its increased output and wider frequency response improves performance. Its sound inlet basket, made of refined steel, is distinguished by a unique silver address side.

Sennheiser Evolution e609 Silver Features

  • Metal construction - rugged and reliable
  • Super-cardioid pick-up pattern provides isolation from other on-stage signals
  • Hum compensating coil reduces electrical interference
  • Neodynum ferrous magnet with boron keeps mic stable regardless of climate

QUALITY:
Sennheiser has always made great microphones and this one is no exception. Well made. Looks and sounds wonderful.

FEATURES:
Simple, to the point, compact, functional.

EASE OF USE:
Required no EQing. It reproduces the sound in the PA the way it sounds to my ear. EXACTLY.

VALUE:
I was very pleased with the value. In my opinion, there's no reason to spend more on a mike for live sound reenforcement of an electric guitar.

SOUND:
This mike replaced a trusty SM57 to mike my Blackface Twin. It reproduces the sound I hear live through the sound system. I'll never use a 57 again.

OVERALL:
There are more expensive mikes that might perform better, but spending more would be a waste of money for live guitar. Added bonus, it records VERY nicely also. Well made, reasonable pr

Subject:Sennheiser for this price?!?!?!
Overall:

QUALITY:
I have NEVER been disappointed by any Sennheiser mic and this is no exception.

FEATURES:
I like the design of the mic especially for guitar cabinets. The pick up pattern is excellent.

EASE OF USE:
Couldn't be any easier to use..plug it in...place it...and go.

VALUE:
The price of this mic is a steal as far as I'm concerned. Sennheiser quality and performance at this price!? Should be a standard in any sound engineers arsenal.

SOUND:
This mic has a warm sound, not too bright but very clean and clear. From time to time I've even used one as an acoustic mic. It lends a 'full' sound rather than the thin sound of some condensers...of course different mics for different sounds so I'm not saying it's the definative acoustic mic but I like it, especially in front of the Deluxe Reverb cabinet.

You name it...

Subject:What a buy!
Overall:

QUALITY:
Rock-hard construction, sturdy output jack.

FEATURES:
The sideways-facing diaphraghm makes it perfect for micing cabs - no stand needed - just hang it over the speaker.

SOUND:
Excellent sound - I prefer to hang the mic about 2" off the center of the speaker cone - it gives you a good amount of fuzz and bass, but still retains great clarity. Fuss around wiht it - you'll find the right spot over the speaker.
