The Singing Machine STVD-1001 is the flagship of Singing Machine’s Pedestal Series.

One wired and one wireless microphone are powered through 2 stereo tower speakers and a powerful 20 watt subwoofer.

The Singing Machine STVD-1001 features KaraokeVision, a video camera allowing you to view and record your performance by sending the audio and video output to your TV or VCR. The on-board 7-inch monitor lets performers sing along with the lyrics as they come across the screen.

A few more of the countless features include: AVC (Auto Voice Control) replace the vocals on most karaoke discs with your own, 8-Step Digital Key Control to help you sing in key and an adjustable Echo Effect to help smooth out your vocals. Auxiliary audio and video inputs and outputs add tremendous flexibility; allowing you to record your performance to VCR or DVD, view your performance or the songs lyrics on a larger external TV or hook up your audio signal to external sound systems. The STVG-1001 even offers Guitar and Keyboard inputs so you can encourage your friends to play along.

Subject:Couple of Design Flaws in my opinion
Quality: This appears to be well made.
Features: From the photos it looked like the top of the unit would swivel to let the woofer face the front. The way I use it any "audience" has to see the back of the unit and all the connecting wires. A better design would allow the video monitor to face the singer while the lower speaker faced the audience. I will probably have to separate the two and put the monitor on some kind of stand and keep the speaker system separate.
Ease of Use: Easy to use and quick to set up. The vertical loading mechanism for the DVD or CD disk is awkward to say the least. I would prefer a slide in loader instead of a vertical loader.
Sound: Sound is a little weak. It is hard to get a good solid bass sound that I would like.
Overall: A good product, but I will have to arrange it differently to use it effectively so that it looks nice when in front of an audience.
Value: I rate this a 4 out of 5. The features are good, but the design and sound are features that I would like to see improved.
