Quality: This is some very nice German engineering. Sonor makes a solid kit, and Quality is never a concern. Ease of Use: No more need for a Sonor drum key! That alone makes it easier to use, but throw in the fact that the kit arrives mostly assembled and it gets even easier. Sound: It sounds great. I love the sound of Birch, and Sonor has developer their engineering to the point where the difference between their low-end and high-end kits becomes smaller and smaller. Value: This kit is an incredible value. Birch isn't cheaper than Maple because its inferior, it's cheaper because it's plentiful. It's a matter of what your ears like to hear, and my ears prefer Birch. The fact that it's less expensive is a big bonus. Durability: I have not yet gigged with it much, but the hardware is very solid, and they've made some improvements since I had my Sonic Plus kit 10 years ago. Good stuff.
