Sonor Safari 4 Piece Mini Drum Shell Kit Drum Set

The Sonor Safari shell kit has great sound and projection plus its compact size makes it a perfect kit for gigs and rehearsals. These drums are made from select basswood and you will not believe the sound these drums produce. The 16 inch bass drum sounds great with even the stock head. 

The Sonor Safari drums feature a great looking wrapped finish plus signature Sonor lugs, a telescoping single tom mount, folding bass drum legs, and of course, the great Sonor touch of class. This is the perfect little kit for small, tight spaces or for light weight travel.

Quality Fun Kit at Budget Friendly Price

Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable?
I purchased this kit for the quality. I had a small budget to work with. I purchased this kit with the sonor hardware package, an additional sonor cymbal stand and the sabian B8 cymbal package all for under a grand. The sonor hardware is excellent.

How is its Tone?
Tone is good. I love the kick and the 10" tom the most, followed by the 14" tom then snare. The stock heads are not that great. I'm looking for a tonal improvement after upgrading the heads. The snare is not to my liking, it sounds week and doesn't have the snap that I like. Honestly sonor should have not included a snare in this pack and dropped the price a little more. But really this kit is well worth the price played, even if the snare is less than par.

This kit is an extremely good value. You get a quality kit with a sharp high end look and build quality for not a lot of dollars. Just be ware 16" bass drum heads are not easy to come by. Most bass drum heads only go down to size 18". Marching drum heads are available in 16" and you could always use a tom head. The Bass drum reso head is very nice that is included on this kit and has an additional clear ring on the inside of it. I heated a large peach can and melted a port hole in it for better miking.

Great bang for the buck. I wanted a kit that would fit in my car (Volvo S40) and wouldn't break the bank. Perfect fit for my needs.

How is its Tone?
Toms are the best pieces, sound wise, in my opinion. Kick is good, but I'm accustomed to a 22 inch so this is an adjustment. Snare sounds good when you crank it.
