| My amp is a VibroChamp XD. The stock preamp tube was a Fender (SovTek 12AX7WC). I replaced it with the Svetlana, which doesn't break up as early and gives me more headroom. It still breaks up, but just later. In between, it gives me lots of subtle tones - more harmonics and more musical. It also gave me more gain, and as a result, more volume on the quieter amp models - IE: The Black Face channel 4 - my favorite. And because of the increased gain, it also brings the 6v6 power tube more into play. Which I like. All in all, it was a few bucks well spent. I have about 60 hours on it now, and it seems to keep getting better as it settles in. |

| This tube has noticeably more tone than some of the other more linear sounding tubes. No quite a TungSol, and certainly not a Gold Lion, but pleasantly in the middle. If you want early break up and low power distortion, try something else. If you are looking for something with headroom, definition and musical overtones, you might want to give this a try. I'm glad I did. |
