Quality
Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable?
This guitar lives up to the Takamine name of quality. While playing along with a handmade Olson guitar, it was difficult to hear any differences.
Reliability
How has it stood up over time?
I had a Takamine years ago and to this day I don't know why I got rid of it. This one will be my work hoarse.
Overall
Your general opinion of this product.
From the moment I took it out of the box I knew it was a keeper. Flawless construction & tonal qualities that rival any handmade guitar.
Playability and Feel
How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing?
Don't play an electric guitar but I'm told this one plays as easy as one. The neck is fast and eliminates fatigue in the fretting hand. The controls are in a perfect place for tuning or adjusting when plugged in.
Tone
Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin?
Bright and snappy when finger picked with a truly smooth mid-range
Finish
How did the stain or paint job look?
Looks like an aged old friend. Love the earthy color.
Action
How was the action out of the box?
The action at the nut was perfect for fretting bar chords, even on the 1st fret. I lowered the action at the saddle because of personal preferences, but it wasn't necessary.
