The CDGT2 guitar trainer features an all new improved ultra compact design, comprehensive LCD display with graphical user interface, Album title/Track title indication by CD-Text, expanded effect banks for user preset, 3 octaves tone oscillator, and Tascam's pioneering VSA (Variable Speed Audition, pitch control without affecting key) feature that lets music fans learn a continuous mix of their favorite songs anywhere they go.
With Tascam's legendary ease of use, pioneering features such as integrated pitch and key control, instrument canceller with selectable canceling pan point and selectable frequency range, and seamless integration with CD-DA/CD-R/CD-RW disc playback. Users can now discover the licks their favorite artist really played.

| For nearly $150 bucks I would have liked metal instead of plastic. It feels a little cheap but it has not affected the functionality. | | Sound:

| Whether you shred, pick, or slide, this compact little unit is a must have. Learn your favorite licks or review your own. It's portability and extreme ease of use makes it a great addition to any studio or gig bag. I like the fact that it takes a full sized CD. I was not too chipped about the "optional" power supply. | It looks well put together and feels solid as well as the controls and buttons. | | Reliability:

| Overall, this one looks and sound better than the previous model. Provides the same functionality except for some additional effects. I wish it had more guitar volume than the CD's but that won't prevent me from using it as I use it primarily for learning lyrics and sometimes for guitar phrases.

| This Tascam is a good tool and a time saver I wish I would have gotten one thirty year ago. Al ya they did have them. We just slow down the record from 33 to 16. YA MAN the good old days. NOT!. I like the ability to slow down the speed of a CD without changing the pitch COOL work well. Really help on the solos.
