The Tascam TM ST1 Stereo Microphone is ideal for anyone looking for a versatile field microphone.
The TM ST1 features a stereo pattern switch that allows you to select between 90 and 120 degree pickup to capture more ambience or to reduce background noise. The mid-side design captures a wide stereo field while maintaining a solid center image.

The TM-ST1 uses a back-electret condenser design for crisply detailed audio with a long battery life for portable recording. The output cable terminates to a 3.5mm stereo jack, ideal for plugging into a DR-1 recorder.

Also included is a microphone clip, table-top stand and windscreen. The microphone is battery-powered and designed to run for hours and hours.

Quality: This microphone seems well made. No complaints yet.
Features: I like being able to switch between 90- and 120-degree recording.
Ease of Use: Extremely easy to use. Just plug into your DT-1's Mic1 jack and you're ready to go.
Sound: Sound quality is this microphone's biggest failing. Although using it with the DR-1 does significantly reduce ambient noise during recording, it is not very sensitive at all. I need to crank the recording input all the way to 10 to get he same playback levels that the DR-1 internal mics give you at about 6. My guitar also sounds slightly muffled through this mic, no matter what adjustments I made.
