Taylor Guitars

The Taylor 2012 210CE Cutaway Acoustic Electric Guitar hones in on the fundamentals of a great guitar-playing experience to give you clear, balanced tone and great intonation. The dreadnought body shape of the 210CE boasts that powerful tone that old school pickers expect, with deep lows and crisp highs, but with a voice that, like every Taylor, is more evenly balanced across the entire tonal spectrum.

Taylor 2012 210CE Cutaway Acoustic Electric Guitar Features
  • Dreadnought body shape for a powerful, balanced tone
  • Solid Sitka Spruce top and Rosewood back and sides for defined bass and clear top end
  • ES-T pickup with EQ and dynamic response
  • Phase switch for feedback control
  • Forward Shifted Pattern bracing
A solid Sitka Spruce top matched with the Rosewood back and sides provides a great warm tone with defined bass and a clear top end and plenty of projection. Premium electronics on the Taylor 210CE gives the guitar fantastic tone when plugged in, rivaling the tone of instruments that cost much more!

ES-T Electronics
The ES-T is a single-source, under-saddle transducer with individual elements for each string. It features an onboard preamp and the same active controls found on the full ES. Featuring a custom-voiced EQ and dynamic response, the system is powered by a 9-volt battery, with a battery life LED power indicator (which is lit when the battery is being used). The pickup also has a Phase switch for feedback control, which is located on the preamp board inside the soundhole.

Absolutely the best Guitar for the Money!
Quality
Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable?
No frills but beautifully made. I've has this guitar for just over a year and have put it through its paces. It is my first performance guitar. I had plans to upgrade...but just don't see the need to.
Reliability
How has it stood up over time?
In just over a year of hard use, it has NEVER let me down. This is a true workhorse!
General
Your general opinion of this product.
Gee....If this is not THE perfect entry-level performance guitar, then it is pretty close!
Playability and Feel
How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing?
I'm a big guy, so it definitely does not feel heavy. My hands are not overly large, fingers are not long but are big....but I have no problems on the fretboard. It lets me go as fast as I can with no problem. Controls are conveniently placed. I use John Pearse strings. Just a personal preference.
Tone
Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin?
Unplugged, it has a "shiny" mellowness that just right for my ears. Plug it in, and you can make it sound however you want.
Finish
How did the stain or paint job look?
Flawless finish right out of the box. Still looks great...Still feels great.
Action
How was the action out of the box?
I made few adjustments...It was great right out of the box!
