Product Description

The Taylor 314CE Grand Auditorium is perfect canvas for the striking appearance and warm tone of its African mahogany composition.
The tone is perfectly balanced, with the bright, snappy characteristics of a Sitka spruce top. The Expression System electronics make this model a great introduction to premium-quality, American-made, solid wood guitars. Other features include an ebony fingerboard, mahogany neck, and chrome-plated Taylor tuners. A Taylor Hardshell case is included.

The Taylor Grand Auditorium Body
Taylor's Grand Auditorium combines the width and depth of a Dreadnought with a narrower waist. Its sleek design yields a strong treble zing across the tonal spectrum and sharpens the definition of individual notes. The Grand Auditorium is a strong fingerpicking guitar that also adapts well to medium strumming.

Taylor 314CE Woods: Sitka Spruce Top; African Mahogany Back & Sides
The warm tone and open midrange of African mahogany balances the bright and snappy characteristics of a Sitka spruce top. The resulting combination provides the perfect guitar for strong, rhythmic playing styles.

Taylor Expression System Electronics
Designed to faithfully reproduce your guitar’s native tone, the Expression System™ utilizes patented Dynamic Sensors to capture top and string vibration like never before. Created in partnership with renowned audio pioneer, Mr. Rupert Neve, the Taylor ES is seamlessly integrated into the design of the guitar from the ground up. Onboard tone controls provide added flavor, or set flat for an uncolored, exceptionally clean amplified sound.

Satin Finish with Gloss Top
The finish used to create this guitar’s textured satin back and sides and lustrous gloss top was developed at Taylor for maximum durability and resistance to cold-checking. This ultra violet-cured finish is also more environmentally friendly than traditional lacquer finishes.

Quality
Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable?
Absolutely. Taylor stands behind their products.
Reliability
How has it stood up over time?
Mine is only six months old. Bob Taylor says these guitars get better with age. I have no doubts about her resume.
General
Your general opinion of this product.
I've played guitar for 30 years and my Taylor 314ce fits me like a glove. She was perfect right out of the box. I can't believe the comfort, confidence, and sound this guitar offers me. Six months into this relationship, consider me a Taylor fan for life.
Playability and Feel
How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing?
Honestly, you won't find a better playing or feeling guitar, unless you can afford a custom build.
Tone
Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin?
Perfect. Unplugged: She's happiest when I spank her hard.
Finish
How did the stain or paint job look?
Beautiful. Everything "just" fits.
