The 2012 Taylor 614CE Grand Auditorium offers a sleek new look with it's sans pickgaurd design. The fingerboard inlays have been replaved with twisted oval inlays, but the tone is all genuine Taylor 614CE. The Taylor 614CE Grand Auditorium has always had a bold sound due to the Big Leaf maple and Sitka spruce materials, promising a bright, crystalline timbre with strong projection and warm overtones. The width and depth of a Dreadnought with a narrower waist, the 2012 614CE Grand Auditorium produces strong treble and sharpens the definition of individual notes.
Taylor 614CE Eletronics: The Taylor Expression System
Designed to faithfully reproduce your guitar's native tone, the Expression System utilizes patented Dynamic Sensors to capture top and string vibration like never before. Created in partnership with renowned audio pioneer, Mr. Rupert Neve, the Taylor ES is seamlessly integrated into the design of the guitar from the ground up. Onboard tone controls provide added flavor, or set flat for an uncolored, exceptionally clean amplified sound.
Gloss Finish
The finish used to create this guitar's lustrous gloss top, back, and sides was developed at Taylor for maximum durability and resistance to cold-checking. This ultra violet-cured finish is also more environmentally friendly than traditional lacquer finishes.
Taylor 600 Series
Controlled overtones and balanced response make the 600 Series ideal for recording and live performance. Add the Expression System on CE models (like this one) and you have powerful guitars with stunning stage presence.

| The BEST guitar I've ever owned in my 57 years, I've owned more than a few in my time! |
| Quality |
| Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable? |
| I didn't even have to touch My 614ce to tell the quality of craftmanship that had gone into making my Taylor! In the time I've owned it, it's never let me down. I use it mostly to record with in my studio. Fantastic! |
|
| Reliability |
| How has it stood up over time? |
| Like a rock! |
|
| General |
| Your general opinion of this product. |
| I've owned Ovations, Gibsons Fenders Hamers, Appaulse,Holidays,Yamahas,Schecters even a Taylor electric. I'll never own another acoustic! |
|
| Playability and Feel |
| How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing? |
| After two strokes and a heart transplant I needed something easy to play! I found it! |
|
| Tone |
| Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin? |
| Full of body and so very manly. It's not a wimpy sounding guitar by any means. It can be tender or it can rock, whatever the need may be. |
|
| Finish |
| How did the stain or paint job look? |
| The stain is a tobacco sunburst look with the back having a quilted maple gold like finish. Absolutely beautiful! |
|
| Action |
| How was the action out of the box? |
| I purchased my Taylor at Willcutt's Guitar in Lexington, Ky. He is known for never let e guitar leave his shop that isn't ready to play. His touch is worthy of Taylor. |
