| Quality:
| The neck is held on by two wood screws from the factory. Draw your own conclusions. |
| Sound:
| The sound quality is better than most guitars it's size (about the size of traditional classical guitars). |
| Reliability:
| I bought it for my 6 year old as a reward for learning a few Taylor Swift songs. She has had it for about a month now and it's held up just fine. |
| Overall:
| It is cheap, but has a hint of Taylor sound quality. The craftsmanship leaves a lot to be desired. For $450 dollars, you could buy a much nicer guitar from another company. |
| Playability and Feel:
| Being a small guitar, the neck is much heavier than the body. Make sure, if a child is going to play on it, that they know and understand that. |
| Tone:
| Like a quiet Taylor 100 series. |
| Finish:
| The finish is nice. From 5 feet away, the guitar looks like a more expensive Taylor. |
| Action:
| Good enough for a beginner. |

| Overall:
| Vey good but for the money. I doubt the last poster who was so "USE" to elctrics owns this guitar or ever even played it as it comes from the factory with light strings and I checked out DOZENS of these and NONE of them needed adjustments. The best but for the price..This and Carvin RULE the budget lines |
| Playability and Feel:
| Great vey comfortable, the samller size is even more confortable than th '14 models |
| Tone:
| Good all around tone |

| Action:

| Quality:
| This instrument is extremely well made. Fit to finish is just what you expect of a Taylor guitar with a much higher price tag. From past experience owning and playing Taylor products and from what I've observed of this particular guitar which I proudly own, I would bet the farm that this is an ax that I can depend on to serve me very well for many years to come in the park, on the couch, on the stage or in the studio. I would feel safe not needing a back up to it and in fact would go as far as to say it would probably be the back up to some other instruments. |
| Reliability:
| I've owned this beastie less than a year so all I can say again is judging from past experiences with Taylor products that properly cared for and handled this ax will most likely stand up quite well to use and only improve with age. |
| Overall:
| My general opinion of the Taylor Big Baby is that it is a steal for the price, playing much more like and eleven or twelve hundred dollar instrument than one you can buy for under five and if you watch for sales like I did, even under four hundred. I own other name brand instruments that I love to death and play the snot out of, but I wanted a Taylor again because of their unique tonal qualities to go in my stable of instruments. Like Martins, the Taylors have their own sound and feel that is instantly recognizable and once I'd played a Big Baby I plotted and schemed until I found a way to get one. You want an affordable guitar that will knock your socks off then check out a Big Baby. |
| Playability and Feel:
| This is a light, comfortable guitar with a sweet neck that plays smooth and easily. Larger players may not like it but I'm a big fan of smaller bodied grand concert or "000" size instruments and find this smaller waisted guitar very playable with good projection and volume one would expect on a much larger instrument which is tesament to Taylor's bracing technology and it's application in their products. |
| Tone:
| The Taylor Big Baby carries on the world famous Taylor Tone with a bright yet balanced sound. She's got plenty of punch when you want it wether you attack the strings aggressively or lightly, finger-picking or flat-picking. There are no electronics and you wouldn't expect any on this little ax. If you want to put a good after-market system in the guitar down the road they are plenty, but this beast will do just fine through a mike. |
| Finish:
| This is in my opinion a finely finished guitar in its simplicity. The sound hole rosette is laser etched and lends a simple elegance to the guitar. Mine appears to be a satin or hand rubbed finish and against the rich black ebony of the fret board and the beautiful but simple pearl (pearloid)inlays it is a very pleasing peice. |
| Action:
| Out of the box the action was set too low and when the strings were attacked aggressively there was fret buzz and excessive metalic ring. A minor adjustment that I feel should have been dealt with at the factory but no biggie. Lets put it this way... I'm not about to throw away a really good guitar because of a minor adjustment. Now corrected, the action is very silky and where I like it which is low and smooth. |
