Taylor DDX Doyle Dykes Deluxe Acoustic Electric Guitar with Gigbag

The Taylor DDX Doyle Deluxe Acoustic Electric Guitar was designed to bring a more affordable signature-style guitar to Doyle-inspired players while still delivering a high level of performance and style. Doyle Dykes has long favored maple Grand Auditorium acoustic models. The DDX Doyle Deluxe is a maple laminate Grand Auditorium with a solid Sitka spruce top.

The DDX Doyle Deluxe acoustic features Doyle's Chet Atkins-style fretboard inlays, a stylized signature treatment emblazoned along the headstock, crisp white binding, a 25-1/2-inch scale length, and a narrower 1-11/16-inch neck. The DDX Doyle Deluxe signature acoustic guitar comes performance-ready with Taylor's under-saddle ES-T pickup.

Fast Neck and a Great Sound Combination
Quality
Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable?
It seems to be built like a tank and I would not worry about it doing gigs. I have not found any imperfections on this guitar.
Reliability
How has it stood up over time?
I have not had it long enough yet to give a good report on that. But with a simple preamp onboard and solid construction it should not be a problem.
Overall
Your general opinion of this product.
This guitar is for those wanting to enjoy playing a nice easy guitar to work with. The action on the neck is the best I have ever dealt with and still sound full and loud. Quality is above average and the finish is flawless. I play lots of shows and this seems like a real good workhorse with a great loud sound.
Playability and Feel
How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing?
A thin easy neck that makes folks with shorter fingers feel like they have a chance at being great players. The controls are simple volume, treble and bass. KISS principle (KEEP IT SIMPLE STUPID) for most of use that do not have a degree in engineering.
Tone
Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin?
Bright and snappy both unplugged or plugged in. Pickup is not hot and just keep in mind to not turn the guitar volume way up or you will note a boxiness in the sound.
Finish
How did the stain or paint job look?
Not a blemish on it! It is the only black taylor I have ever seen.
Action
How was the action out of the box?
Best ever seen on any acoustic guitar, period! If you are tired of fighting guitar necks or an electric player wanting an easy acoustic to use. Look no further!
