Sound: The tone really is expressive from a good bass response to far reaching high end. I found strumming the DN3 really opens up the sound. Reliability: The DN3 is brand new bought at AMS. I don't see any problems with it. Overall: I was surprised at the DN3'3 wide range of tone. My Martins have a narrow tone range,deep bass,modest high end good thump for bluegrass(D28). The Taylor DN3 has a nice bass no wimp there just not a D28.The mid tones and high end just soar however a beautiful range. Very well made and the case is good quality. The only reason for the 4 stars on the price is Taylor dealers will go 20% lower than AMS which offers only M.A.P. pricing. Playability and Feel: The DN3 plays very easy great for strumming or flat picking. Tone: I can get a nice deep sound from the low end and mellow it out and get a nice bright snappy sound from the high end. You can really cover a wide range with the DN#. Finish: Beautiful gloss top and satin back and sides. Action: The action out of the box was as good as you can get. 2.5/32in on the low E and 1.5/32in on the high E. I made a new bone saddle to replace the Tusq saddle and raised the action just a little. There was no buzz either as low as the action came.This shows the quality of the work Taylor does.
