This pedal offers you 5 different stereo reverb types – room, spring, hall, plate and specials – ranging from the warm vintage sounding Classic Spring to the pristine and stunningly realistic TC Classic Hall. Reverb just doesn’t come any better than this.
Built upon the legacy and knowledge of TC’s legendary reverb processors the release of the NR-1 Nova Reverb raises the bar for guitar effect pedals and redefines what it means to be state-of-the-art. The NR-1 Nova Reverb offers uncompromised studio quality digital effects in a compact floor-based design.
NR-1 Nova Reverb is a stereo reverb pedal with two settings selectable via the two footswitches: Manual, which represents the current position of the knobs and Preset, which is a stored sound that can be recalled at any time.
NR-1 Nova Reverb also has a unique new feature called DynaMix™. DynaMix™ acts as a dynamic ducking effect that turns down the reverb while you’re playing and turns it back up again when you’re not playing. This prevents the sound from getting muddy – especially when using large hall reverb types – but will still give you that huge live venue effect while the notes decay. The DynaMix™ effect can also be reversed, so the reverb is turned up while playing and gated when the input signal falls below a certain level, producing a truly unique and out-of-this-world effect.

It is imperative to us that any reverb that leaves the TC labs is of unsurpassed excellence. You are sure to find the same high standards of quality in the Nova Reverb. These reverbs are based on TC’s top notch legacy algorithms but have been fine-tuned for the guitar player.
Room Reverbs
- Small Room
- A neutral generic room. Where many other reverb types are tuned to stand out in a live environment, the Medium Room is a subtle reverb that excels where details in the guitar sound is the primary focus.
- Medium Room
- If you want a reverb that is tight and with a predomination of early reflections, the Medium Reverb will be your preferred choice. It emulates the small amount of natural reverb that occurs in e.g. a studio control room. Use this reverb type to obtain a tight, bright and smack-in-the-face sound.
- Large Room
- A reverb type that resembles a relatively large room well furnished. In such a room many reflections are absorbed by soft material and source material is reflected and sustained only from walls and windows etc. The sound is dry and quite intimate.
- Tiled Room
- Often you’ll want to get the bathroom effect without actually wanting it to sound like you’re playing in your bathtub. The Tiled Room reverb simulates the qualities of a small to med-size tiled room with its many reflections. At the same time it behaves respectfully towards the original source material. Use it as an effect that adds quite a bit of color to your sound.
Spring Reverbs
- Classic Spring
- With the Classic Spring reverb in the G-Sharp you’ve got one of the best emulations of a classic spring reverb there is. We’ve spent a lot of time calculating and reinterpreting the behavior of a traditional spring reverb. Use this reverb when you want a contemporary “old-school” sound.
- Vintage Spring
- The Vintage Spring algorithm is fine-tuned to perfectly emulate the sound of the past. In the old days, large metal springs were used to make reverbs, and often you’ll find these in old vintage guitar amps. Use the Vintage Spring reverb if you want the classic sound that you would normally only find in vintage amps.
- Plain Spring
- Sometimes you just want the classic spring reverb, without to much color. The Plain Spring is an “unbiased” representation of the sound that a mechanical spring reverb will generate. If you want to achieve a sound that has a somewhat classic quality to it, but don’t want to color it too much, use the Plain Spring.
Hall Reverbs
- Small Hall
- Have you ever experienced the great difference between a sound-check and the actual concert? The Club Reverb emulates a typical empty mid-sized club. Try this as an effect that will emphasize and position the guitar rather than give it a big sigh.
- Medium Hall
- The Medium Hall is a broad yet slightly diffuse reverb. It simulates a large environment but adds a distinctive acoustic flavor to the source material. Use this reverb when you want to create an unbiased yet genuine ambience.
- Church Hall
- A highly diffuse reverb that is recognizable for its emulation of the many hard surfaces of different shapes found in traditional church rooms. From hell-bent rumbling lows to celestial angel-like highs – Church provides you with authentic and grandiose reverbs with medium to long decay times.
- Classic Hall
- The reverb known from many legendary TC products that gives you a rich spacious feel with plenty of air. Perfect with medium to long decay times.
- Concert Hall
- This reverb has become a classic in itself. It simulates a rather large hall and it’s stunningly good at preserving the original and natural characteristics of the source material. If you’re looking for a sound with long decay times the Concert Hall is excellent and you’ll get a large and broad sound that is very distinctive.
Plate Reverbs
- Tin Plate
- We’ve done our best to recreate the plate reverbs used prior to the digital era. The Tin Plate reproduces the sound of a large metallic plate, and gives you a sound that you probably heard on many recordings from the past. Use the Tin Plate when you just want the pure and uncolored plate sound. It is bright and has a diffuse quality that is perfect for funky rhythm guitar patterns.
- Silver Plate
- The Silver Plate algorithm is a luxuriously well-tempered plate reverb, which gives you a perfect balance between the Tin and Gold Plate reverbs. It’s got all the qualities of a classic plate reverb; the right amount of exquisite and gentle coloring, crystalline brightness and subtle diffusion. Use this reverb for just about anything, and especially when you want to add that complete and personal ambience.
- Gold Plate
- We’ve boosted the full potential of an old school plate reverb, and designed the Gold Plate algorithm to reflect all the brightness, coloring and diffusion that the original plate reverbs had to offer. Use this reverb when you just can’t get enough gold on your sound.
Specials
- Stomp
- Quite an extraordinary reverb type reproducing some of the characteristics from contemporary stomp-box reverbs. This is not a smooth subtle reverb, but may be just what you are looking for if you need a reverb that is different and can cut through.
- Ambience
- If you want to add a touch of reverb that clearly gives you a sense of music played in a vivid room, use the Ambience reverb. We’ve focused on the early reflections which will give you a sound that complements smaller rooms and clubs. The reverb is brilliant in emulating a feeling of environment that is well suited for dry source material.
- Mod
- A reverb type where the diffuse field is modulated via complex LFOs. An excellent choice for vintage style guitar sounds, Wurlitzer pianos and much more.
Dynamix
A unique feature inherited from the legendary TC 2290 delay, but never before seen on a Reverb.
Many guitar players don’t like using reverb because the feel it muddies up their sound. Dynamix allows you to control the level of the reverb via the dynamics of the input signal. This way you get the best of both worlds. When you’re playing the reverb doesn’t get in your way by cluttering up your lightning speed runs, but hold a note and the the ambience from the reverb will wash in.
Turning the control clockwise towards “pos” (positive), the reverb output is attenuated while you play and increased in-between phrases. This actually allows you to play with quite a lot of reverb without clouding or disturbing your phrases.
Turning the control counterclockwise towards “inv” (inverse), you can do exactly the opposite; more reverb applied while playing and less when you stop playing – try experimenting with this setting and a long hall reverb for some truly unique sounds.
With the knob in 12 o’clock position, no dynamix is applied.
Reverb Spill-over
Smooth transitions when switching from “on” to bypass mode is best achieved by letting the reverb spill over. This feature can be applied individually for both manual and preset modes.
Automatic Input Level Calibration
The Nova Reverb pedal features a unique new way of optimizing the input levels for your specific setup. Simply activate the Automatic Input Level Calibration mode and play and the pedal will automatically set the perfect input level, no matter if the pedal is in an amps effect loop or the only effect between your guitar and amp.
