Only guitar you need - really!
Quality
Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable?
Better than many American-made guitars - the EG1 is built in Canada
Reliability
How has it stood up over time?
My friend Dan's Traveler Speedster has flown over a half million miles in the last 3 years and looks and plays like new - I bought my EG1 a month ago for a California trip
Overall
Your general opinion of this product.
| Guitarist's dream - perfect for travel
- equally perfect for your main axe - it turns heads everywhere and sounds like a bright, sunny day! |
Playability and Feel
How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing?
Light (5 lbs), perfect balance on the strap buttons, fast jumbo frets, no buzz *anywhere* - other players who tried my EG1 last week in California all loved the action
Tone
Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin?
One excellent bridge-mounted humbucker with totally silent, *smooth*, passive tone & volume controls - my luthier's best tube amp sounded terrific with this little gem
Finish
How did the stain or paint job look?
Premium - very sharp gold metal-flake - the 4-bolt neck pocket is perfectly cut out (no shims)
Action
How was the action out of the box?
Fine - best bridge I've ever seen - the D string was 2 cents sharp at the octave (very easily fixed) - the EG1 neck is narrow and the jumbo frets are very forgiving - but the EG1 neck is slightly thicker than many electrics - EG1 is shortscale (24 3/4") and my other guitars are all longscale - it took me a few days to adjust (playing fingerstyle jazz)
