If you want an extremely versatile, smooth, transparent and dynamic overdrive, the Wampler Euphoria Overdrive Guitar Effects Pedal is for you! When Brian created the circuit that would eventually become the Euphoria, he was working on creating a pedal that would go from clean tones to distorted tones while adding a bit of warmth. He wanted something for himself that would be dynamic, have a great sounding gritty tone to it yet be able to respond to the volume knob like a tube amp.
The Euphoria overdrive pedal is his take on that elusive tone and feel made famous by Dumble Amplifiers - smooth creaminess yet crunchy when you need it to be, yet the tonality is much more transparent than other dumble sounding pedals. Very responsive tone controls that interact with the pedal - they don't just color the sound. The controls of the Wampler Euphoria actually affect the response and feel of the pedal, just like a great tube amp.

If you love the sound of your clean tone, and just wish you could have more hair on the note, a little bit of grit without any change in tonality, the Wampler Euphoria pedal will do that with ease. PLUS it's extremely flexible! With the toggle switch in the down position you'll get a hint of fuzz along with the overdrive, it's reminiscent of the tones that Eric Johnson may use. With the toggle in the up position the tonality is super smooth, creamy yet crunchy when you dig into the strings.
This is reminiscent to the famous Dumble tone, though it's really much, much more than that. In the center position, the toggle will give you tons of crunch, or roll the gain back a bit and push the volume up and you have a superior clean boost with a 2 band EQ that's extremely transparent, but variable so you can actually turn it into an awesome treble booster just by cranking up the treble and turning the bass down.

As Good as it Gets
Quality
Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable?
The pedal is designed and made better than nearly all of its competition.
|

How has it stood up over time?
Built with only the highest quality components.

3 Overdrives in 1 pedal. A Serious tone machine. This pedal has earned a permanent spot on my board!

Playability and Feel
How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing?
Responds well and cleans up depending on pick attack and/or use of the guitars volume control. This pedal sounds great with any pup, single coil, P 90 or Humbucker. I own 2 Deluxe Amercian made Fenders, a Tele and a Strat, and 2 Gibson Les Pauls, 1 with humbuckers with coil taps and the other with p 90's. I also run an Egnater Rebel 30 and a Fender Hot Rod Deluxe amp and This pedal works equally well in combination of any guitar/amp combination I throw at it. It also works well alone or with other fuzz/distortion/overdrive pedals.

Tone
Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin?
So many tonal variations in 1 box should cost 4 times this much. It can go from a very subtle, barely there overdrive sound to an in your face, pushing the limit break up.
|
Finish
How did the stain or paint job look?
Looks great but sounds like the gem that it is.
|
Action
How was the action out of the box?
Very easy to dial in any tone you are looking for. Even when pushed to the extreme the articulation of individual notes beats anything else I have ever borrow, bought or heard to date!

Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable?
I've only had it for a few weeks but it appears to be extremely well made - it is replacing an overdrive pedal that recently broke down. Idk, if you ask me, from the build quality I'd have to say that it'll last for a long time (I'd say that it'll probably even outlast some of my boutique pedals) plus if it doesn't, it has long warranty...oh & it has a dark green sparkle finish so that's cool too, ha.

Overall, very impressed with it so far. I'm already looking at other Wampler pedals, especially the new Tap Tempo Tape Echo and I heard that their Compressor is right up there w/Keeley's stuff.

As far as sound - I like it a lot. I was looking for a transparent overdrive that would respond to picking dynamics, but it had to be 'low gain' so I could leave it on and it would interact w/my amp's lead channel, and it also had to 'not be' a TS clone (I can't stand the mid-bump w/those, they don't sound natural to me). This pedal has all of my needs and then some, it can do the low gain stuff but it also has more than enough gain to be a main overdrive (seriously, I only have the gain set at 9 o'clock!). Plus you have the option to choose between three different overdrive styles. It is very versatile - I plan on leaving it on my board for a while yet. Just for reference sake, I was looking into the JHS Morning Glory and the Timmy but I went w/the the Euphoria first and I'm glad that I did. I highly recommend - at the least, check out the YouTube videos and come to your own conclusions.
